What would be really interesting, not saying your build isn't op, is a back to back road and track comparison of this and a 1M as BMW intended.

Im just in talks with somebody from Austrilia about building a like for like BMW 1M GTS which will have the the same finish and result of a M3 GTS but in a 1M

nono

I love the OEM'ness of this car. At £35k this is a huge amount of car however I fear it would have to be a keeper to justify the price.

Absolutley adore it though, I think the next one you make should be in BMW Frozen Grey:

Awesome, time you get a Discovery Channel TV show isn't it?!

I'd love to do something like this but it would have to be a personal project and a keeper for me only to enjoy with no intent of resale. I don't want to bash you at all, you are very skilled but you couldn't tempt me to part with £35k for a car that started life as a 118d. It's the same reason why I'm reluctant to 1M-kit our 135i because at the end of it all, it's still a 135i which is worth no more than it was before, if not less after it was chopped up. A genuine 1M sits at around £35k and with around £1500 thrown at it can produce around 450bhp with a lighter engine, more torquey engine and in a more reliable package. Do you offer warraties with your cars? I'd imagine anyone interested needs assurance of reliability more than anything.

All that said, what do you charge to do complete 1M body conversions to E82's? smile

I do fully understand its not for everyone at 35k, however i did watch a 123D fetch £17,500 with the BMW 1M kit fitted and i know this is nearly half the price of the 1M V8. But the 1M v8 has gone through a lot more hoops to make it what it is, It has over £4000 worth of BMW Performance parts fitted, full CIC Sat Nav with logic 7 and connected drive for internet use in the car, bluetooth, fully functional M drive to adjust the power delivery and custom tailored interior to match the performance parts.
When it comes to comparing the engine they dont really have much in them in weight as the kerb weight of the V8 1M is 1495kg same as the oringal 1M, plus with the V8 engine is mounted closer to the bulk head and doesnt have as much over hang as the 1M engine over the front axle which give it slightly better positioning. With the 1M engine you can push it to the same bhp or more but the the S65 V8 engine is built ready to take 414 as standard and has been voted best international engine in 5 years running for the 3.0 - 4.0 category. And one theory behind the project was also the availability of parts, as i was able to get everything for the M3 second hand but everything i needed that was from a 1M had to be bought new, so when it comes to maintenance, parts are easier to source for the running gear and engine.
Dont get me wrong im not pulling the 1M in anyway as i have drove both, but they are two completely different cars. The 1M has that low down punch of torque that make the car feel like its gone mad whereas the S65 has to be driven high in to the rev range for you to really understand the power of the engine

We can fit the 1M kit for you, i do beleieve the full kit is around £4000 plus vat and the fitting would be around £2000 as it will require a full respray more or less and it involve taking the rear part of the interior to do the job properly

Don't disagree with the principal of that thought, I prefer forced induction for road engines, but the reality is that the N54 engine is only a mere 7kg lighter (195kg) than the S65 V8 engine (202kg) and the S65 CofG is lower and further back as well.

There's a whopping 30+kg difference between the N54 in a 135/1M and the n/a N52 in a 130i, the magnessium alloy N52 only weighs a mere 161kg...!!
