Until you turn up, then they'll pick holes in it to the tune of 2k.

I am not aware of any display apart from the Parrot i9200 mini screen which does have some pretty colours on it.

The OBD display doesn't count. And it's a bit cr4p (VWs effort is far better).

I thought this was their modus operandi but still a high offer to start with when there is people on this thread saying 3k, 4k, 6k etc

Errrm, the stereo? And some fresh air? And a climate control bit? And maybe a hazard light switch?

Excellent! And whats the display? Yup, a monochrome two-line jobby. It isn't just the stereo, it displays other information as well.

Ours is like this one but with centigrade not farenheit:

Fairly sure the stereo only displays stereo related info...

Actually, providing the car is as described, mileage and condition, then you WILL get the quote.

This is good to hear! I described the car as is to them so I cannot see that they would have grounds to nail me down on price but I would have expected them to try!

If traders are willing to bid £9,400 on the car then it just reiterates that it should be worth £10k plus in my book. I think I need to be patient and it will sell, it's a lovely car!!!

My next move is a 10 day auction on eBay starting at £0.99 and see where that gets me, hopefully a lot of interest

I would do eBay as a fixed price.
It is one of the best ways to advertise a car these days.

Many serious buyers won't want to pay top dollar with an auction, as a classified ad they can come and see the car and take their time, no commitment like there is with an auction.

Here what you are saying but I have had it on for 30 days as a fixed price advert with hardly any interest. I've always found when I have put auctions on eBay that I get lots of interest and end up selling it early anyway. Got to be worth a try, I have never part-exed or sold to a trader in my life, I always do my own sales and I don't want to change now

I get that, but the trade bid of £9400 is a very good bid.

How much more would you want to let it go?

And will you really put it up with no reserve? That is the way to get auctions moving, but it is a big risk on a high priced item imho.

A little bit OT, but I've always done the opposite and traded all my cars, I would like to sell private but I'm a little nervous about randoms turning up and wanting to drive my car. I'd be happy to take people for a drive (is this common practice when buying/selling privately?) - the only time I've purchased privately the seller took me out as a passenger, the car seemed to drive well no funny noises etc so i bought the car, it turned out to need a load of steering/suspension work as most of it was worn frown This was only a 1500 car so wasn't really too bothered, but wouldn't be happy paying several thousand without a thorough test drive.

I've got decent money for the last few cars we've px'd. We even got an okay price just selling (non px) to a local main dealer.

So much less hassle; just add up how much time you spend doing the ad, showing people the car, getting it spotless, etc. it's surprising.

Generally I take a buyer out in the car with me and go through a range of driving styles with them, anything they request. If they really want to drive the car then I ask them to get fully comp cover subject to buying and they test drive it before the money changes hands. I've got rid of quite a lot that way including £45k car, £30k car etc
