My point is, when you work out monthly car cost, including tyres, servicing, insurance and fuel the difference is not all that between a 2 litre diesel and a straight 6 3 litre petrol.

Often people simply don't do realise how small a difference it is.

The difference in running costs per mile between my wife's 2.0 tdi and my 4.2 V8 petrol is noticeable!
I'm glad she doesn't do her 1000 miles a week in my car...Good job my commute is only miles per week smile

I was doing 40,000 miles a year in an S4 avant and that did cost money, but that was 18mpg, even doing that mileage!

But for many who are doing 10 or 15k miles a year the difference simply isn't worth the sacrifice imho.

Has any body used www.cars2vans.com? They are advertising 125d M Sports for between £205 to £270 per month, on a personal lease. Sounds quite good to me.
Monthly cost us irrelevant unless you let us know the initial rental.
I expect you can lease a new m5 for 99 a month (forgot to mention the 25k upfront cost )

Quite right. Add the initial cost to the total monthly rentals then divide it by the number of months to get the real monthly cost. Too many times, the deposit is getting quietly ignored in threads like this.yes

Why is it? The guy said that they are from £xxx to £xxx and provided a link that shows the deposit is between £1200 and £2400, the latter gets you it for £169 a month.

I've seen some chat on other threads about 17% off list price for 125d / 135i series if you just buy outright - and 19% off 335d. Not sure if this translates down to other models.

Maybe not for all models but for some they do, yes. Check out broadspeed - a few thousand can be had off a 125i as I looked for myself. Had this verified by doing some ringing around dealers also.

Got to be the best deal I've seen in a long time, possibly even better than the M135i deal...

Wow! I'm almost tempted and I don't even particularly like them. Very cheap indeed if they really are available.

£345 when you factor in the doc fee and initial payment, before you add any options.

Is there any mileage in moving this to general gassing?
I'm keen to keep an eye out on this for an impulse deal but it seems a bit restrictive to keep it in the BMW forum

Out of interest, why are those deals business only? Surely it makes no difference if a personal customer pays VAT as well?

I think there is GG thread running on lease deals... so would be useful in there.

c'mon Merc, make the deal attractive for personal users too!

Speak to them, often they will do it.

The other deals are just the regular prices before this 23 month deal hit.

The best deals often seem to be business only. I imagine its in order to protect the margins on the retail side, or atleast go some way to placating the Franchises who have invested small fortunes for the privelage of selling X Marque's cars. Ultimately the lease providers are in it to make money though, so I'm sure they'll stretch the definition of "business" as far as possible, they just won't openly advertise that.

Also under a consumer lease your statutory rights would apply above and beyond the contract. So B2B can work out cheaper for them when they factor in risks associated under consumer law.
