Yeah the GL350 deal is a good deal. Unfortunately it is only available on a business lease (highly inflated personal lease also available)and I don't want to get smashed on company car tax.

Unless anyone can find this deal on a personal lease around same money, ie £480 including VAT????

Just put it on your company name but pay for it with personal money so tax will probably not be a issue.

I'm also looking at a 640D M sport coupe 2 year lease deals. Any good ones out there?

Thanks,

Without knowing the size of the deposit, the monthly payment amount is irrelevant. How much is the deposit on the GL?

Depends on the lease company. Many are happy to Contract Hire to an individual. They just add the VAT.

GL350 is not bad right now at £400 + VAT
This could be anything from not bad to truly terrible, subject to what the deposit is and the mileage limit.

6 +23 at £400 +VAT, 10,000 miles per year.

Thanks for that advice, I had my accountant check that and you're right it can be done without any tax implications. Can even put payments through business account without accounting for it, just offset against drawings - happy days!

Might just pull the trigger on that deal - GL350 at £398pm + VAT - 6+23 based on 10k pa with excess mileage at 10p per mile. That's a cracking deal on a 60k car.

Only downside, they can't get me the car until late February so might have to borrow something for a couple of months!!

That's certainly a lot of metal for the money. My wife's friend has a GL420 and it makes our ML look small.

Did you see Quentin Wilson talking about lease deals on German cars.He said with the German economy picking up cheapo deals are soon going to be a thing of the past so get in now.

We shall see I guess.
I wonder if that will see residual values improve (ie they can reposition as a "premium" brand again).

I'm struggling to see the appeal of driving the QE2 compared to a 6 series. I'd rather pay 100 quid a month more and get the 6.

I really think I will pull the trigger and buy the GL this week.

Maybe we can do a small group buy?

Going to Mercedes tomorrow to take a look, and very likely to pull the trigger.

Happy to join forces for a better deal. Where are u based, I'm south London.

What's the problem. Is the M5 too powerful for you to handle? whistle

So, that's £7k pa inc deposit and VAT. Not bad, but shame about the car!

My thoughts exactly. However, I may go look around one. See if I could get used to the idea. It would also upset the tree hugging environmentalists round my way. This adds to the appeal!

I would say they're the biggest car available in UK. Probably designed for American market. Is size matters to you get one. I wouldn't like to try parking one at the supermarche.
