£297.99+ VAT (9+23) - 63 Plate Mercedes Benz CLS 250 CDi AMG Sport Shooting Brake 7G Tronic
OK it's not really in the same league as a 640d, but seems like a good deal for someone.
For anyone who likes the Audi TT (maybe not on PH I Suppose) there's a few deals going around for the Audi TT S-Line at £199+VAT at the moment.

So... at circa 12k for 2 years motoring makes this deal rather a bargain if you ask me.

Let's not forget that the likes of MB now sell so few cars at the RRP, that if anything, the RRP now mainly exists to encourage you to do the man maths you've just done.
Oh indeed. I imagine fairly hefty discounts off list are available if you wander in and actually buy the thing, however I imagine the target price would still be around 45k.hornetrider said:

I'm not saying it's a bad deal, it's just important not to get carried away with the whole RRP thing these days, best to just look at the car and the total payments including deposit over the whole period and decide whether or not it's a better deal than good old fashioned depreciation. In many cases, it clearly is. Yeah those Mercedes deals are pretty good at the moment ... seem to be better deals than BMW currently
You can have either a CLS350 AMG sport auto or an E350 AMG sport auto cabriolet for virtually the same money on the usual lease deals.
Might go into the MERC garage again later and finally make a decision.
Current 530d M sport GT goes back in less than 2 months.

I saw those lease deals and went to local Merc showroom, the new E-Class coupe looks IMO very very nice on the exterior, the interior is fairly nice as well but I cannot get over how uncomfortable the car is. I had a 62 plate E-Class saloon earlier on this year while my M5 was in the bodyshop, nice car in everyway but the interior just isn't comfortable
Saw the 4 Series 30 min later, SOOO much nicer, obviously no lease deals like the E-Class

That's not bad. If I could get the 350CLS for under 400+VAT on a 6+23 deal, with 10k per year,, that may well be my next car.

As you wish:pp
CLS 350CDi SE £363.75 + VAT (6+23)
CLS 350CDi AMG Sport £378.06 + VAT (6+23)
CLS 350CDi SE Shootingbrake £381.98 + VAT (6+23), or CLS 350CDi AMG Sport Shootingbrake £396.29 + VAT (6+23)
A friend of mine has used this firm before and found them to be very good. PM me for his details and I think the pair of you (or maybe just him) get a commission if you let them know of the recommendation.

NOt that great. Better than buying I brand new and suffering the hit but still a pretty poor way of spending over 5k per year on a car.

Am I missing something here? That deal is 9+23 so it works out at £400 per month plus vat = £480.

It really depends on whether this is the kind of car you want. You are right that this car would cost you £11443 over 2 years. However this is a £52k car. Lets say you got it for £45k - you'd have to be able to sell it for £33k after two years to only spend the same amount of money - and that does not take into account the cost of stumping up the money for the 2 yrs. NOt that great. Better than buying I brand new and suffering the hit but still a pretty poor way of spending over 5k per year on a car.
In fact two year old <20k miles cars are retailing at £27k and trading at about £22k so if you bought the car it would be costing you at least £20k over the two years, plus the cost of the money.
So if you want a new CLS these lease deals are a no brainer.
I agree JD. Ive never quite understood how and why they can do these deals that leave them considerably out of pocket depreciation wise.
My point is just a hatred of these misleading deposits pretending that the lease deal is much better than it actually is which the above conversation seems to demonstrate. It's not a £300 pm lease deal it is a £500pm deal. I can't understand why they are not standardised for clarity
