Morning all,

I have just bought a 123D M-Sport from a friend. Only problem is I have to wait until her new 2 series arrives.

BMW have said 5-6 weeks, is that what everyone else is/has experienced? I'm hoping they say that for worst case but in fact it arrives sooner..?!

Thanks
Ed.

Usual wait for a BMW factory order is around 10 weeks from order (my 1 Series was) and I'd be surprised if a new 2 Series is as quick as 5-6 weeks!

I'm not 100% sure but it depends on what cars the factory is making at that time (according to my dealer). When I ordered my car, I was told I had to wait 2 weeks for the factory to start making the model that I wanted, and then another 2 weeks for delivery .

I'm picking up my new 328 Tourer next week. Wait was 12 weeks though some of this is because I chose BMW Individual Paint and Upholstery. My dealer told me that this doubled the build time which suggests standard period is 6 weeks.

The dealer should be able to tell her the build week, then add 2 weeks for shipping and prep.

Ordered a 2 series today , none available from stock so factory order , delivery early June.

7-8 weeks it is then.

Order my 530 on 6th December. It arrived at the dealer on 14th February or so but I was busy so I didn't pick it up until 7th March.

I have another 10 weeks to go until my 2 series arrives! We placed our order about 2 weeks ago.

Well, she ordered her new 2 Series M-Sport on the 29th March.

There seems to be no real feed back from the dealer as to when she can expect it.

Judging by the previous message I shouldn't start getting excited for a few weeks yet!

Why can't BMW tell her when it will be available?

They certainly should have an estimated date on their system unless it hasn't event been allocated a build slot yet. Get her to call up and ask them to check the date on "IVS" if no date is available then it hasn't even been given a build slot.

It depends on the dealer's stock allocation - our 335d got pulled forward and was less than 6 weeks.

Can't you track your BMW order from order to delivery? My friend tracked his M3 using it - something similar to this:

I think his also showed the revised/realistic delivery date as well; maybe you can ask your friend to see if they can see it?
