...I like timber in my cars
I'm currently pondering the 635d convertible (E64). However most have dashboard/centre consoles that are either black or silver metal. Did they fit wood inserts in convertibles, if so is it worth waiting for one to appear, and if not how good are those trim packs for $220 from the US?
Ta!
NB: How weatherproof are BMW convertibles? Is it OK to leave them outside or should I get the garage extended to fit it?

Well in the past (525 and Jaguar) I've been able to source a set of s/a bits that just stick on. Not as good as OEM I agree and probably quite horrible if you like aluminium, but quite passable.
I reckon a dealer will want £1K+ but a friendly chat might reveal other ways of skinning this particular cat
If anyone knows of an aftermarket stick-on kit do fire away!
