Register on E30zone. Keep an eye on 'cars for sale' there too.

www.carandclassic.co.uk is worth keeping an eye on too.

(no connection to seller or car)

Good luck with the search.

If you haven't got much experience of these cars, make sure you get somebody knowledgeable to check any potential purchase out. Rust absolutely kills E30's. Even nice looking examples can require thousands of pounds of bodywork. You really need to look under the bodykit, under the carpets, the boot trim and under the dash to make sure it isn't a lemon.

Very good advice.

Just to add to this excellent advice:

Have a read here: http://www.petrolheads.co.uk/xforums/topic.asp?h=0...

They're fantastic little cars and very chuck-able on a nice twisty road (absolutely loved Mine! - Had it for 13 years and shed a tear when it finally went for "spares or repairs"), but be aware, they can hide some horrors incredibly well and even a perfect looking car can be a basket case underneath!

If you read through the link that I've posted, it'll explain what I mean. The bodykit on the latter cars that helps make the cars, also secretly helps break the cars!

I've probably worked on it in my Coombs days.

Not a bona fide Sport, but if the advert is accurate it might as well be one.

How much do you want to spend? I nearly bought a mint done for £10k in February. There were a couple around for that price on car and classic that were perfect.

Agree with all of the comments about rust and having to throw thousand at them. I should know I have an 87' tech1 (pre-facelift model).
