I'm looking at 1 series convertibles for the girlfriend and need some advice ...

Service intervals seem to be 19k or two years, is that right? Are there any big services to watch out for?

Any issues with them (e.g. Engine, hood, etc)? Are they reliable normally?

Looking at cars around 2008, with 118 or 120 petrol engine and must be black m sport cars with leather. Are there any must have options?

Looked at one today and the car was in lovely condition inside and the bodywork was great, it was low mileage and had full bm history, but the wheels were all badly bubbling up all over. Is this a weak point? Any ideas what would have caused them to go so badly? I guess I could just have them properly stripped and powder coated?

Any help/advice appreciated...

All recent BMWs seem to suffer with the paint bubbling on the wheels, our e60 is awful for it.

Personally I wouldn't be entertaining buying a BMW without Idrive and xenons at a minimum
