Ah. Will not be able to do it today/this weekend that is for sure
I'm sure the BMW offers were removed from Drive The Deal's website for a couple of weeks but I got an e-mail a day or two back saying they were about to end and when I checked sure enough they'd reappeared! However, it looks to be a very temporary extension as they're saying orders need to be placed by 30th June and cars delivered by 30th September; looks like you've got about a week to make-up your mind Beefy!I'm also considering one of these, but only if I get a mega end of quarter deal,My local dealer has nearly matched the broad speed discount which is good but I only like the car with the 20" wheels and front splitter etc which I'm told has to be ordered via parts dept on top of original spec which is ludicrous and approx 4k more which for me puts it in my uncomfortable purchase price zone.I haven't driven x drive yet which is a must as it seems to get mixed reviews,I like the performance and economy,I would sell my rs4 and a4 tdi and just smoke one of these everyday.
Just been told my 335d Touring, ordered at the end of June, has a build date of, wait for it... Week 9 2015 (end of February). Eight months wait for a 3 Series? Seriously? Dealer has indicated that this is due to BMW UK's allocation of 35d engines being full and that they're trying to get an increased allocation.
Not happy given (1) the delay means the LCI facelift (which I also understand will be badged 340d) will be out shortly after I take delivery of my car, and (2) this means I have a combined wait of around 26 months for the 2 cars I currently have on order - how difficult is it to buy a new car!!!

Apart from the 340d badge what else is suspected to change? Not happy given (1) the delay means the LCI facelift (which I also understand will be badged 340d) will be out shortly after I take delivery of my car, and (2) this means I have a combined wait of around 26 months for the 2 cars I currently have on order - how difficult is it to buy a new car!!!
340d rwd as a 535d can cope with the torque
More power
More economy
Updated looks
Cannot believe its such a long waiting list - really they need to remove the huge discounts or never had them in the first place or increase supply.

As you say, it is a bit bizarre to offer really large discounts without the supply to satisfy the demand.340d rwd as a 535d can cope with the torque

I assume LED rear/brake/indicator lights which made it on to the E9* LCI, only to be taken away for the F30, will return. Incandescent bulbs have no place on an F30 in my opinion.
They can't do too much to the power output without causing themselves other problems. Currently the 335d is just half a second behind the manual M3 in the 0-60 measure (and 0.7 sec behind the auto M3). I can't see them raising the M3 power within a year of launch, which leaves them with little room for raising 335d/340d power, so probably a token increase in power coupled with an efficiency improvement.
Perhaps xenon lights will become standard on 6 cylinder models.
I love how this thread has gone from "get a load of the discount on these 335d, every man and his dog should have one at these prices... blah blah blah"
to
"how dare BMW offer so much discount... now every man and his dog has saturated the order book... I can't get one quickly enough... rant rant rant"
Why not just order one back in April? Loads of others seem to be happy driving around in theirs...

I believe they wanted to do xDrive 5 series too, but had some technical issue which prevented it. I assume the 535d may have been xDrive only if they had been able to get it working.
I don't see the point in offering it xDrive only though, it's a real shame, the demand for xDrive all of a sudden is driven entirely by the perception that we don't live in dull boring England we actually all live in Austria and need 4wd for the once time a year when it snows a bit. A shame if this sort of opinion kills the powerful RWD models. Not a single flake last year. Just not reliable enough to be influencing purchases.

Rwd only would be better mpg too better ride height Not a single flake last year. Just not reliable enough to be influencing purchases.

I agree that it would be better to offer both RWD and 4WD, as they do with the 330d and some others. It isn't just about snow of course, and the majority do use their cars somewhere slippery. Having had several RWD BMWs, I don't think much of the feel has been lost - the xDrive seems a very good system to me, but it's not for everyone. I guess you still have 330d and 335i models in RWD if that is essential to you. I do love the 335d engine though...Not a single flake last year. Just not reliable enough to be influencing purchases.

The ride height is something like a centimetre above the regular sDrive, when xDrive is fitted with the essential Adaptive suspension. If that bothers you, there is a set of AC Schnitzer springs for about £650 fitted which do not invalidate the warranty and these reduce the ride height to about a centimetre below sDrive. They are very well reviewed. It is true that xDrive probably knocks off a couple of mpg. I seem to be averaging 39mpg in mine. I got about 44mpg from the sDrive 330d on similar roads, but that is a significantly less powerful car. I guess a 335d sDrive would be somewhere in the middle if it existed.

Something is very wrong there with those delivery dates. I placed my order early June, it was originally going to be delivered in September, but my dealer issued a "pull forward" request and I took delivery of the car last Saturday. Even with the original September delivery date, it's hard to believe that BMW have taken 5 months worth of build slots in the past month.

Could simply be stronger demand elsewhere OR BMW forcing a reduction of discount by eliminating supply - or you have a rare option which is the issue. Even with the original September delivery date, it's hard to believe that BMW have taken 5 months worth of build slots in the past month.
