Simple quick calc
3 years 15k per year
Depreciation 58p (deposit + payments)
Insurance 3p (£500 a year)
Tyres 7p (one set a year)
Fuel 18p (35mpg)
Service pack 1p (£445)
87p per mile.
I would be surprised if your car depreciated by £26k in 3 years and 45k miles, assuming that you got a reasonable discount to start with.3 years 15k per year

The depreciation figure would be a lot better if you held on to it for 6 years, of course.

My car listed at £49179.98 and I got £9435.74 in discount and the APR was 4.9%.

Been looking into one of these as a long term ownership option - would be buying brand new (there are hardly any used available in the colour or spec we want).
£42k list price and looking at £6k ish options.
BMW will contribute £4.4k and offer 4.9% apr given a 15% customer contribution.
Ignoring options this means is have to pay just over £6k deposit and then £395pcm for £47 months with a GFV of 12k (which I cannot see as a true reflection of a car with c60k miles tops and 4 years old so equity in it for sure).
Broadspeed are quoting a £9k discount and that they will ensure dealers will match the APR % PCP etc I'd want to give the deal to my local dealership as they have been superb with my previous car and I'd be using them to service it ongoing.
Options
Either Blue or Grey - had blue on the 330d E90
Panoramic roof (question does it have a blind the whole way or is it just tinted)
M performance pack
Pro Nav
Privacy glass rear
Internet connection
Extended storage
Heated front seats
Lumbar support
Adaptive suspension
Thinking about
HUD
Chrome roof rails
Electric wing mirrors
Climate screen (is this as good as quick clear Ford/Jag?)
High beam assist
Firstly is the price good? Second realistically in 4 years time with that spec and not even 60k what would it be worth?
Am I missing any must have option and have I added unneeded options?
Lastly will I have my trousers pulled down on part x RS6 c5?

Well I may as well keep this going as an 335D owner's thread....
Anybody have the factory fire extinguisher? Mine is fitted under the passenger seat, but I would have expected it to have been under the drivers seat.
On another note - got my third new front bumper yesterday and it finally looks good with the small Swiss plate! They had fitted a UK size plate holder from the factory.

Ah, OK thank you. I have come from Mercedes and they were all fitted under the driver's seat. I can see the logic of having it under the passenger so there is zero danger of it unlatching and going under the pedals.
On a different, more exciting note - after 4000km I am starting to open up the taps and it is rapid. Yet to have full foot to the floor....

Ah you've got me thinking now because I had an R129 SL with a fire extinguisher and I could have sworn it was on the passenger side, but it was a while ago. On a different, more exciting note - after 4000km I am starting to open up the taps and it is rapid. Yet to have full foot to the floor....
I've been bad and put my foot down a few times in mine just clocked up 500 miles, not very many times but with only 4-5k of revs to play with it's hard not too.
@Afro
One option to seriously consider is the Heads Up Display - I do not have it but a courtesy car I had yesterday had it. Seriously cool but unnecessary bit of kit. I expected to be a bit lame, but the depth of field is clever - you genuinely believe the image is down at the edge of the bonnet. But only get it after Adaptive and M-Sport Plus.

@Sim. I agree its an awesome bit of kit but aside from having the speed right in front of my face I don't see the benefit for the extra it will cost me monthly. I love it on the new M3 and M4, I love that the revs are displayed.
Have you seen the multi function displays in the 5 series? That with HUD is a very cool combo.

M550D was in Switzerland, I think it is only available in LHD.
My doors rattle at the top - it is the plastic covering on the inside of the top of the door. Due back in to have them all fixed, although the dealer didn't seem to think it was a common issue. In fairness the Swiss roads are very good so there is not much noise. On a recent trip to Italy the interior sounded like a 1986 Fiat on the rougher roads.
