But it's not a finance quote, and it's based on assumptions about discount, interest rates and GFV. Your GFV figure is worked backwards anyway, and more than £6k different to the figure given in your initial post, so it might be worth getting a quote and not spouting figures plucked from the air laugh

And when I say you ignore the deposit, I mean that you haven't worked out what that costs you over the 4 years. It's £125 a month extra. You might as well say that you're putting down a £30k deposit and it's only £99 a month.

Ok without matching Broadspeeds deal the deal is

4.9% Apr @£395pcm x47 months
£4,300 BMW contribution
15% Customer deposit £6,385
List price £42,565

True there isn't any GFV but you can effectively work it out from these numbers - if you are then given a further 11% discount which would make it match B/speed then all else being equal the only value to reduce is the monthly payments.

I take your point re customer deposit is effectively £135pcm over and above.

I'm still not 100% as yet on the purchase but would want to give the business to my local BMW garage.

£286pcm for driving that car is stunning value - though that's without options....
Sounds to me like you need to get a proper quote which reflects any options you want on the car. Some will affect the GFV but a lot won't and will hence need to be funded over the term of the deal (i.e. their full cost will drop straight through to your monthly repayments). Could make make quite a difference to your £286/month depending on which options you tick!

Agreed - the above numbers are base car only.
Pro nav would be £40pcm

HUD, Active cruise control, Adaptive headlights and Pro Nav are my favourite features.

£40pcm? On a 4 year agreement, that sounds like a lot if you take I to account the cost difference vs benefit in GFV between Pro nav and the lower spec options.

On my 4 year agreement, the upgrade from Business to Pro nav was circa £18.50 NET.

The £40pcm is it the cost drops fully through so a worst case scenario.

What he means is, they charge you £40pcm for it, but your car will probably only drop £20 a month extra so you get half of it back at the end.

£1,900 /48 =c£40pcm that is worst case for Pro Nav if it drops through if it enhances GFV that's a nice problem to have.

I would have thought that things like sat-nav would increase the GVF slightly but other options (heated seats, panoramic roof) will add little if anything and hence you'll end-up paying for them in full over the term of the agreement. I suspect things like the M-Sport Plus package may also add a bit to the GVF as the used values in things like Glass's Guide often seem to assume that the 19" wheels are fitted to the higher spec models.

At one time I'm sure you could build your own BMW on their website and then get a PCP quote for the exact spec you'd just "built"; however, that facility seems to have disappeared so I think the only way you can be certain about your repayments is by requesting a quote or (probably better) sitting down with a dealer so you can see the effect of changing spec, deposit level, etc.

I'm clearly being stupid here, but if the option cost is £1,900, surely the £40 PCM payments need to be higher as they would be subject to the 4 years APR if you are considering "worst" case?

Lol yes - but your into the sub £1pcm difference with the interest and I'd rounded up pro nav to £1.9k rather than £1,8xx so possibly over egging it anyway.

I've had my F31 330d seven months now. Can I make a case for the sunroof, please? I was uncertain but went for it and haven't regretted it at all. It makes the whole cabin seem so much more spacious, especially in dull weather. I leave the internal cover back by default most of the time. I also went for sports electric seats - not sure the electric and lumbar support was worth the extra. Xenons and adaptive are a must, the latter especially if you do cross-country winter drives regularly.

Know this isn't an mpg thread but what have you been getting best worst and usual.

Electric seats was one I pondered, at close to £50k for the car it should come as standard really.

If they were <£400 then potentially worth it, but at over £1,000 for both it wasn't worth it for me - I can use the handles!

He means he has no idea what they charge becuase he's not bothered to get a quote. He's just divided the cost of the option on a new car from the BMW site by 48.

All this is irrelevant though as you've not ticked the right engine box.... wink
I just got back from a 220 mile round trip in mine and averaged 36mpg. yikes
Through the stty 50 limits on the M6 it was doing over 45mpg.

Who needs diesels? wink
Hadn't read all of this thread but the above makes a lot of sense to me! The 335i is a far sweeter engine to sit behind than even BMW's 6-cylinder oil burners and my own experience with petrol and diesel tells me that the mpg advantage the 335d is likely hold over a 335i will be much less than the combined figures would have you believe (I suspect 6-7 mpg rather than quoted 12-13mpg). Therefore, unless you're doing a high mileage and value the longer range, the superior refinement and nicer noise of the 335i is worth every penny of additional fuel cost IMHO!
Reading back, I should clarify that these were readings from the OBC, not anything scientific like actually brimming that tank or any other more credible method.

I tend not to focus too much effort on getting a precise reading of mpg and will happily accept the propaganda presented to me by the computer.

Particularly if it supports the man maths.

Fair enough. By my reckoning £1900 over 4 years at nearly 5% APR is considerably more than sub £1pcm, but you're the finance man!

As per others suggestion, get yourself into a dealer and look them in the eye. If your experience is anything like mine was, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the deals that can be done.

What 'deal' ?
Has a anyone actually given you a quote ? How can you come up with all these figures but not know what the balloon would be to take ownership at the end ?
Apologies if I've missed something earlier.
