DAB retrofit to 2010 E91
Discussion
If you can find the MOST (fibre) cables in the boot - usually where the CD changer would be, or possibly the combox then you can add the Fistune module there with just power and a cable to the antenna, no need to remove the head unit. However, and if you can't find the MOST cables then my experience of removing head units in two BMWs (E91 and F11) was actually quite simple.
What I discovered during fitting of the Fistune in my old E91 was that the CD changer MOST cable was on a loopback so wasn't actually connected to the head unit and I couldn't find where the loopback was so I ended up instaling inline with the combox instead.

Yes... but in my country now there’s a lot of station that broadcasts only Dab signal.
So I want to install the dab.
If I can work in the trunk of my car fot install the dab for me is pretty easy, If not It is a problem because I’m unable to disassembly the head unit.....
Do you see any cable in the photos where I can connect the fistune?
Thanks

Thanks for reply eatontrifles,
I'm unable to see in my trunk the box that is on your car!
Please see the photos I've just attached.
Can I connect the fistune from the back (trunk) of my car ?
thanks
I'd presume the location of the MOST fibre cables and/or the combox has moved from the E to F series cars. I can't help any further than that as your car is different to the one I did this installation on.I'm unable to see in my trunk the box that is on your car!

I found the combox on my car! It is in the trunk, but It is very hidden!
So Can I buy the fistune and try to install it ?
Which version I have to choose?

Have I to choose the CIC or NBT version?

Hello,
Yesterday a delaer contact me and told me that he can install fistune,
and also he probably can integrate it with the original bmw antenna!
Is it possible in your opinion ????

I would not use the factory aerial, they are terrible. Yesterday a delaer contact me and told me that he can install fistune,

A cheap €10 window one on eBay will work much better.
I’ve done oem DAB module retro fits in to both a pre facelift E91 and a first gen MINI clubman using the CD changer wiring that was already in place. What changed on later BMW models is that the entertainment systems ceased to be made up of a Daisy chain of separate modules (e.g. head unit, DAB, Bluetooth etc) connected by MOST optical cables, and moved to a range of head units with the extra functions built in.
On the later head units you need to change to a replacement head unit with DAB as there is no MOST loop or compatibility for connection of older generation add on modules.

I wouldn't bother. My DAB drops out all over the country and is unavailable in many places.
Buy a decent aerial then. Are you using the factory aerial in the window?
Mercedes E220 factory DAB.
Still utterly crap.
