Why a 645...Wanted a V8, wanted some comfort and wanted a coupe and where else can you get all this for 7k..Amazing value for money at the moment..

.....And what a car. Different beast to the M3 of course........Drove 100 miles home in her on Tuesdy and loved it...Smooth, comfy, fast and looks bloody stunning (well to me it does but I know looks divide opinion)......

So why did I pick this car.....

Good bits
Paint work is good with a deep shine to her.
Interior is almost spotless
77k on the clock and most I was looking at in this price bracket had 100k on the clock.
Serviced last month at a cost of £600
New pads, disc last Jan
Some of the issues associated with these cars have been sorted with receipts - Sump, oil leaks....
One thing I wanted was Logic7 HI Fi but the advert never mentioned it. To my joy it does have it...What a sound system...Think it was around a 2k option...
All tyres around 80% to the good....
And she is a joy to drive....Very different to what I'm used to.

Not so good
Wheels need a refurb as whoever refurbed then didn't do a good job and there is a corrosion on them.
Some stone chips on the front and a few on the passenger door.
A few age related marks on back bumper.

Was not concerned about the bits above as I used this to my advantage with the price and will eventually get all this done. In fact I am very pleased with the price and my purchased but as a matter of urgency must get those wheels done as that will bug me until sorted. Will also be getting the chrome around the window changed to black and the front grills black as well....maybe

So all in all a very happy man.....Lets hope it stays that way the car is reliable..Now to get her is the same condition as I had the M3....Still can not believe that you can get this much car for 7K....

Lovely mate, and such a bargain.

With cars like this at that price I am finding it harder and harder to ever buy new again.

I would get the wheels done in graphite grey, darker than the car but no where near black.

That's the plan...Anthracite or gunmetal...or maybe just change them for a different style maybe...

That is a very nice car.
Could you describe more of the differences in experience between the 6 and the M3 from your opinion?

I would vote for style 249 wheels for the 6 series, I think they look great on the 635d which commonly has them fitted.

This car was on my list when looking....I did speak to the dealer briefly as it was taken off sale as some one was intereted but couldn't get finance so has been put but up for sale.....Love the colour...but the reason I went for the one I did was that I got it for a £1000 less and it had 77k on the clock compared to 90 on the blue one.......Plus the grey had Logic7 which is just amazing....The blue car does look very lovely though.

Sold mine (650i) almost a year ago to the day. The 6 are nice cars and good value for money. The Bangle butt actually suits them and I like the black wheels on yours.

Some pics of my old girl;

Lovely car, i'm still looking for a 650, but a convertible. Alas nothing has yet turned up.
Hopefully people will start to sell them this winter and i might be able to find the one that i want.
Enjoy the miles smile

Looks great, still miss mine after over five years has passed. Great GT car, we did a lot of European trips in ours and it was great for covering distance in comfort at lively pace. Surprisingly good on fuel as well.

Interesting! I'd been led to believe it was an engine out job and a major weakness of the engine, which has rather been putting me off.

What's the "easy repair" and what sort of cost are we talking?

Have a look on Bimmerfix.com.
It's around $200 for the bits and a few guys in the UK have used it successfully now as well as loads in the states.

I have the convertible version and it will happily sit two adults in the back though I wouldn't want to be in there for hours on end though smile

My two lads love it in the back because of the contoured seats and high centre section..Not had adults in there yet......I love the car after only a week and do not miss the M3.....It handles really well for such a big car with little body roll which surprised me......And the cabin is a big step on from the E46...Lovely place to be on a journey.
