You have looked at option price lists before right?

I put about £7k worth of options on mine and made it clear I'd like it asap. They didn't tell me that ordering that package would make any difference.

They told me probably March/April time but they'd let me know in a couple of days. That was over a week ago though. When I rang and chased, they said they'd got an AG number (whatever that is), but hadn't got a date yet.

Im quite suprised at how small the lead times are actually. My local dealer is quite large and in an affluent area, and has only sold 4 out of his 5 2015 allocation. If i order now, I get a June car. So they're not exactly flying off the shelves.

I'm fairly convinced that I'll place an order though, but don't need the car yet as I'm doing work to my house/driveway.

They've appeared on our company car list. Large company with a lot of premium cars.. The gulp moment was when want circa 2200/month for an i8 against 1400 for an m6 gran coupe (both unlimited miles, fully serviced, insured etc). They're not cheap!

That's ridiculous. 15 seconds on Google shows several suppliers at half that money.

Hard to figure out the finer details in 15 seconds. I take your point about availability though.

The car is pretty much fully spec'd anyway. The main options Impulse adds are

Halo 2150
Drivers Assist 1490
Harman speakers 895
Alloys 1380
Frozen White 1350

Totals 7265

If you wanted Grey then the total is 5915. That means you're paying about 6 grand for the "Exclusive" extras. Those are:

Pure Impulse Club
Velour floor mats
Logo on calipers
Logo on door sills
Logo on headrests
Leather engine cover
Ceramic gear lever

That would have to be one hell of a Club to warrant the cash. So, no, it's not a "bargain", but each tp their own.
Agree!
I will let you all know in November when our impulse pack car comes! I do agree the club will have to be very good but it's kind of exciting!

Only 12% ?

I always have a laugh at Car magazine .

This months magazine M235I list price £34350 as tested price £42020 , and there's loads like that to choose from.

I went for the Turbine 625 alloys, with Carpo (Black) interior and headlining.

I think the point being made by Craig is not that the option is £12k, but that it is NOT optional for the first 6 or 7 months (optional implies you can get the car without it, which you can't apparently, so the true launch price is £112k for the first 6 months).

Also WRT RRPs and option prices, who ever pays those? They are largely BS these days unless you have to pay BIK, in which case the Tax man is happy to screw you on the basis of those BS prices.

I meant in general, for example on a £42k 2 series or one of the other heavily spec'd cars reviewed by car mags. Not the i8.
