Hi guys,
Seriously considering this car, it seems to have been well taken care of, and has a fbmwsh, nice colour and spec, higher miles than I would like but if it is as good as it has been described to me, it has been maintained. It has had recent tyres, and front discs/pads and sensors.
Any thoughts on the car, I think it is priced well (obviously a wee bit less would be better) compared to other similar cars for sale.
Thanks lewis.

Does look like a nice car and great spec too. Xenons, nav, bluetooth, hi-fi and new Bridgestones all round. I'm on my 2nd E90 330d and they're a great all rounder. I know the nav is a bit out of date, but it does lift the interior. Mine doesn't have it and I often find myself looking at ways to retro fit it. It is cost prohibitive though. If it fits the bill, get it bought.

That is what I am thinking, which means others are thinking the same. I may take the plunge. It ticks a lot of the car buying boxes, I would still take a petrol over diesel but can't have it all.
It does look a lovely well specced example and its in my favourite colour combo, used to have a E90 330d for 6 years and over 150k miles and it was an awesome car, I currently have a E90 330i and I usually prefer petrol over diesel but in this case I actually think the 330d is a better car overall when compared to the 330i. The 330i hasn't got any mid range shove and the higher revs are nice and it does sound better from the outside but from inside the 330d sounds far better for me and the first time I put my foot down in the 330i I was so disappointed as it felt pretty slow after the 330d so I don't think you cant go wrong with the diesel.

I only got £6.5k for mine a year newer but 113k miles full BMW s/h new tyres no service due for over a year etc that was sept last year. So frankly is consider this to be way over priced.
Good info re price, like you say your one was higher mileage, how does this one compare in terms of spec to yours, my fear was it was at the higher end of the price range, but not too many in this colour combo, and spec. Were you a private seller? I am never too sure how much money a dealer will have in a car? 20%?? They have already spent a few hundred on pre sale inspection, good chance they got it for 7k I suspect.lewis328 said:

Everything except Xenons. lewis328 said:
Dilema is that I could wait till someone like yourself puts there one up for sale, and get a perfectly good car for 2k cheaper, albeit higher mileage.
Or I'd use the same budget for the LCI model instead better HDD better engine faster and more economy better rear lights etc. lewis328 said:
6.5k trade is a good price then, this is a dealer that put some money into the car, is offering warranty etc. 8.5k or less would be a good buy I feel.
Well that's screen price so maybe a deal there too. But yes warranty 30k fewer miles - does it have new discs and pads? New tyres ? These two are worth not far off £2k alone.

Yes 4 new Bridgestones, new front disc and pads, and rear drop links, and front suspension arms, I think it's a genuine car, and I am sure there is a deal to be done. Just a case of getting the time to pop over and view it.
Put it this way what do you think it will be worth in a years time? £6k and then the year after that - is wager the same again. Makes me think if I had kept my e90 330d it would have be a year of depreciation free motoring and as I'd owned it from so new it was well looked after wanted for nothing.

However, in real world driving it can be harder work. You have to be prepared to drop down to 3rd at motorway speeds to get the best out of it. Below 80 in 4th it accelerates like a slug - once above that it goes like a train though. 6th is an overdrive just to keep the published mpg figures low.
If you're keen on B-road blasts, then I'd say the 330i is the best car. The 330d is great for long motorway drives with effortless overtaking.
However, a 9 year old diesel car can be a real liability. You would save loads by getting a 330i with the N52 engine of the same age (which sounds lovely). Unless you're doing the mileage to justify the extra outlay of a diesel I would really think hard about it as the N52 is renowned as being one of the last non direct injection engines and is very reliable.
This dealer may be offering a warranty, but independent dealer warranties often have lots of get out clauses. Also, margins on used cars these days are very low. I know this guy has said the car was previously owned by his wife etc, but is that really true? Often used car dealers get their stock in from auctions and do no PDI (even if they're advertising that they do, in the hope that there's nothing wrong with the car, or that you won't complain.
He might then suddenly become very hard to get hold of, and then you'll have to go to the small claims court which is a pain in the ar5e.
Unless you're doing loads of miles and need a diesel, I would say you're probably better off with a similar age 330i with the N52 engine

Very nice car that blue one, gorgeous colour and combination with the leather too.
It looks very well specced too.
Aside from the hifi, idrive, xenons, etc, you can see its also got heated seats and the two 12v sockets in the rear centre console are an extra too.
It also looks like its got rear split/folding seats which is a very rare option on saloons!
If you can get the last 7 characters of the VIN you can decode it to get a full list of options.
My E91 has all of those extras too apart from the 12v sockets (keep thinking about adding them), but I upgraded the CCC idrive to the 2011 spec CIC version with combox and the difference is HUGE! It cost about £1500 and was worth every single penny, especially if you have an iphone/ipod and want full control.
Mileage wise, I don't do that many either, but I love how it drives and the power, I've not bothered mapping it even though my last car had near double the power, its still quick enough
I wouldn't worry about the milage, 86k on a near 10 year old car is nothing! Mine has done 108k now, 55 plate too and hardly feels like its done 20k

The 330i vs 330d comparison is a weird one. The 330i (especially with the N53 engine) is much faster than the 330d. It's also much faster than the published figures suggest - if you look on Youtube there are plenty of German guys who manage to get 0-60 times of under 5.5 seconds and top speeds of 164mph (with the 155mph limiter intact and no modifications ).
However, in real world driving it can be harder work. You have to be prepared to drop down to 3rd at motorway speeds to get the best out of it. Below 80 in 4th it accelerates like a slug - once above that it goes like a train though. 6th is an overdrive just to keep the published mpg figures low.

That is a really good sum up and the 330i is more rewarding on a B road blast but the 330d`s slug of torque makes overtaking a little easier but both are good all round cars though.
