Strange electronic issue with my E39 530i

I went to lock the car earlier and the indicators didn't flash as normal. When I came back to it a couple of hours later, the MK4 Nav screen was flickering when I started it, and continued to do so when I was driving. It stayed on enough in order for me to turn the radio down but kept cutting out. Also the indicators were working immediately but the clicking indicator noise and dash arrows are delayed 90% of the time. When I switched the car off and took the key out the radio stayed on for about 10 seconds. The car is driving fine. Stuff like cruise control, horn and climate control work fine. I also noticed the other day one of the headlights stopped working, then suddenly it was fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like the ignition switch is playing up.

Google suggested a loose connection in the cd changer in the boot. It was right! Working now. I have also discovered I have an aux in port in the glovebox, but the wire leading behind the dash is snapped.
