As stated previously i had a VW V6 4mo before this and although lovely just didnt do it 4 me. I really feel like im driving a future classic with this car. Love the colour, love the drive and love the admiration it attracts (one thing the golf never did). One happy bog at mo :-)

Thanks :-) I must admit that had they of been aftermarket alloys they may have looked a little silly on the carin the 18" format.
With the MV1 however i knew they were periodically correct and designed accordingly. This was just an exageration of the cars character and lines if thats not to arty and deep!! Lol.

Went for a drive to see my sister earlier and it was very wet..... and boy was the back end twitchyeek

I think yours has all the stuff mine has by the sound of it. I've got the moonroof, ( TV with nav -comes in handy in Europe ), electric heated seats ( leather rather than alcantara - I prefer the alcantara though ), 6 CD changer ( luckily plays MP3 CDs ), storage pack and tyre pressure monitor

Hey thanks! What made you get rid of yours..... looks lovely. Know what you mean about the 6 speed but hasnt bothered me as much as i thought it would?

Fullruns front/kendra rears. Im aware of how horrid these tyres are and will replace with premiums (any advice) in the near future. I was just keen to change the alloys in the short term.

I dont think you have......!!!! So Conti Sport Contact. Question. Would a strech tyre at the rear (check photos) make a major differece to the handling. These have the staggered fitment but with same tyre fitment all round. I will be honest and say i llllooooovvveee how this looks but honest opinions are really apreciated.

So just as a quick update had a service 1 done today and had the car looked over. Apart from reasonably worn rear brake pads all looks good so far. He did echo the sentiment regarding the tyres mind you!!! Still, glad with purchase and will update thread with any bits that get sorted. Thanks all for your contributions and please keep thread alive as it's an interesting read for a new owner :-)

So it's been queit on the update front and that's due the car being no hassle since purchase. Due to take her on a long run in a couple of weekends so will feed back on ride/mpg and such and give her a nice clean (will take pics).
Really want to get alloys refurb end but will wait for new year.

Still loving it though :-)

325ti might be a "sensible" choice for my next car
One drivers experience is different to another but I can say with conviction that this is a superb little car. It makes a wonderful noise under acceleration and personally I think it looks great too. Great bang for the buck.

Don't get me wrong it's not a world beater when it comes to the hot hatch stake but in a straight line over a 1/4 this little thing will keep up with most and surprise many. I also find that most who do want a little nibble are expecting smaller engined versions so take great pleasure in listening to the roar of her engine and the look on their face as you ease away :-)

If you buy a sensibly priced one and it's not ur cup of tea it shouldn't be to hard to move on quickly either.

So i managed an inside andnout job today between the rain and vacuum break downs. 250 mile round trip tomorrow so wilm update with mpg and ride details on return :-)

Right place, right time for me I think. The dealer had lit just taken it in for a px the week prior and it was being used to ferry clients for a week or two before being prepped to sell, we saw them on a Sunday (they don't usually open) and had cash. It hadn't been serviced or had a valet and was out of tax the next day so we were in a strong position to drive a great deal.

If I was selling mine now with 92k on the clock I would ask min £3.5k for it. But I'm in no rush so would hold out for it.

That may be too much in most peeps minds but it's the right car for someone and they would pay it if they wanted it as it's in super condition. We are only the second owners.

With 50k on the clock your mate has got a little gem there so if he is not in a rush advertise everywhere and hold out for what he wants.

So just over 300 miles covered. Mainly motorway and a return of 31.7mpg
