New (to me) BMW 325ti compact - what next
Discussion
I had one and loved it. It was reasonably quick and sounded really good...I even quite like the way they look aside from the Lexus style rear lights. Mine was only an SE but the Sport versions are better looking.
I do remember mine having a frightening appetite for suspension components; bushes didn't seem to last long and it ate rear springs. The cooling system cost me a bit of money too as did the rear brake lines when they needed replacing.
Fuel wise it was pretty good with an indicated 31.7mpg unless I drove like a complete and utter a hole. Even then it'd take some doing.

Am now wondering if I can justify buying a Compact for daily duties? Ideal Imola red with CSL alloys please.
Ha, after all my noise earlier of not wanting to change anything about my new daily, I looked at it today and thought it would be a riot with a set of CSL wheels and CSL suspension and CSL seats and....oh crp!!mark.c said:

I've had the same thought myself... I want a V12 E36 Compact first though Mine used to work through its fair share of rear springs too. Always replaced with OEM sport items, but in hindsight I probably should have investigated alternatives e.g. Eibach or H&R
The MV1s are nice. Mine are all scratched and scuffed and chipped and covered with burned-in brake dust that's impervious to all earthly forms of cleaning technology... but there's just something about the their curvy fiddly spoke-y appearance that I still find strangely pleasing.
I always thought they were teetering on the brink of being maybe a bit much for the saloon, so I was expecting them to look too large on the compact. But they suit it well, and look much better than the old ones
BTW as a random link, there's a comprehensive visual guide to BMW wheel styles here: http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/

Thanks :-) I must admit that had they of been aftermarket alloys they may have looked a little silly on the carin the 18" format.I always thought they were teetering on the brink of being maybe a bit much for the saloon, so I was expecting them to look too large on the compact. With the MV1 however i knew they were periodically correct and designed accordingly. This was just an exageration of the cars character and lines if thats not to arty and deep!! Lol.
Will enjoy looking through the link u posted too. Cheers :-)

I don't know how much they vary in spec but it's a late car, sport, 54 plate so has the non lexus rear lights, six speed manual with alcantara. Leccy three quarter windows, cruise, auto lights and wipers, oh and one of those natty parcel shelf compartment thingys . It's got 90k, two owners and FMDSH, it even came with fresh discs on it from BMW and on matching Conti's all round. All this plus a working rear wiper ( only one out of the six I looked at) meant I had to bring it home
Sorry OP for going on a bit !
The wiper is a common fault - water gets into them over time from the washer jet set and the gear mechanism seizes up. You can refurb them on the cheap otherwise it's a new one.Sorry OP for going on a bit !
I think yours has all the stuff mine has by the sound of it. I've got the moonroof, ( TV with nav -comes in handy in Europe ), electric heated seats ( leather rather than alcantara - I prefer the alcantara though ), 6 CD changer ( luckily plays MP3 CDs ), storage pack and tyre pressure monitor
