I'm pretty sure it has the hardrive iDrive? It certainly looks like it -
Carbon black paint that looks almost dark blue in the light
Panoramic sunroof is amazing
Does anyone know if I can buy a phone cradle to fit an iPhone 5? The one in there is for the pref owners phone. Will the phone then just charge or will it sync with the car's computer?
There's also an input in cable whole next to the cradle which I presume is to play the iPod/iphone through but not to have any control over it?
I also presume you can bluetooth the phone through the system?

Also I just out of interest checked out the bmw warranty cost (it comes with one year but I was interested in rough cost) and with comprehensive it quotes just under £1700! Mileage is at 68,000 and I know the warranty is meant to
be good but that seems an awful lot if money - any comments?

Sounds like a lot... I used to renew the warranty on an X3 35d (same drivetrain essentially) and at 4 years old and approx 60k it was <£500. Quite necessary too as it had a new pano roof fitted just before I bought it and then subsequently under my ownership a new satnav module costing £2k-odd.be good but that seems an awful lot if money - any comments?
Sounds like there is an 'X5 tax' - my old E65 came in at a similar warranty cost.
There is a massive price difference for cars under 60k miles and ones over 60k miles.
If under 60k do it monthly as the price doesn't then jump up when you go over 60k miles.
That second year warranty at £350 sounds like a dealers own rather than the BMW approved warranty supplied by Mondial.

Won't wash why? I just bought a 2007 4.8i and insured through Mondial on the monthly scheme.
After spending £3000 last year on sorting bits n bobs for my old Cayenne Turbo, it's worth it for the peace of mind.
I think what was actually meant was that the monthly payment scheme is the way to protect yourself from the significant premium increases which come when you hit the 60k mileage mark. I don't think anyone's doubting the benefit of the Mondial policy, more that if you are under the 60k threshold, it makes most sense to go monthly to protect from upward premium revision. However, it does still make sense to go monthly to avoid loosing the fully comp cover when you go above 100k too!

Is the monthly BMW warranty transferable to a new owner? However, it does still make sense to go monthly to avoid loosing the fully comp cover when you go above 100k too!
I PURCHASED A 09 PLATE X5 35D MSPORT I SPOKE TO BMW CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING THE SECOND YEAR WARRANTY THE DEALERSHIP PUT ON MY CAR FOR £350 .THE CAR WAS BMW USED APPROVED WITH ONE YEAR THE SECOND YEAR IS SHOWING AS A BMW APPROVED WARRANTY ON THERE SYSTEMS . I BOUGHT THE CAR THREE WEEKS AGO AND HAS 77K MILES WHEN I BOUGHT IT. THOUGHT IT WAS VERY CHEAP FOR SECOND YEAR WARRANTY WITH ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND NO EXCESS . THE CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM SYNTERS VERY HELP UNLIKE ANOTHER DEALSHIP WHO SAID THAT A SECOND YEAR COULD NOT BE PUT ON AT POINT OF SALE
