Well I guess so! It's very wet up here today but there was no detectable wheel spin.

I did another launch yesterday in the dry and got 4.5 to 62 (timed on the M lap timer) so not sure of the accuracy of the device vs. real timing equipment like a Vbox. I also only had 1/4 of fuel in and I'm beginning to wonder if that road isn't a little downhill! hehe

But it is so utterly boring as it does it, effective but not exciting.

Only about 100kg difference between the two Lee and at speed that wouldn't really count, perhaps he'd already had a tune put on it.

Can I borrow your M5 for my next trip up and down the A1 please. cool
Only problem there is in this damp dank weather you'd be sitting there spinning the wheels, it likes to wag its tail even at 90mph.

You miss the different engine characteristics of the M3 then I am guessing a little.
I'm sure the M3 is better but the 335d is a hell of a car for much less money.
Well the M3 was 45k (new in 2012) and the 335d was 40k (new in 2014) so not as big of a difference once you add in the discounts from list (63k vs. 49k)

It can be scary TBH when it does that, truth is its got too much torque so you can't use the power in the lower gears, I prefer my old e92 m3 overall.

It needs more "feel" you're a bit isolated from the action and when you do slam your foot down you're holding on as it goes berserk... hehe

My mate has just got an RS6 and he runs rings round me in it, he drove mine and went sideways as he pulled away.....he said "st why is it doing that?!"

A perfect insight to the mindset of most Audi RS drivers hehe
Honestly....he's always banging on about "surefootedness" When he said why is the back end coming round? I said it's called "fun"

Obviously I haven't admitted my car has scared me stless on a few occasions...

Yes the M3 I thought was really good at getting its power down and when you mention "feel" I thought of my TVR as it wasn't first rate in sophistication but it did communicate well as to what the rear end was doing yet still pretty mental in the wet.
Your Cerbera would and is on another level! I'd love to drive one, I sat in one once when I was 20 at HHC I thought, Wow you're so low how could you drive this beast!

No not such a huge difference there BUT the running costs will be very different. Fuel, insurance, tyres (never got more than 8000 miles from a set on my M5), and servicing etc., will all cost considrably more.
Not really apart from the fuel, servicing they both had the service pack, insurance the same, tyres not too much in it be that price or how long they last.

I've 25k on my current set and there is life left in them you must have driven your m5 pretty hard everywhere.

No I didn't drive it especially hard. It was my every day driver used for work and pleasure. The front tyres always went first apparently as they carried the weight of the engine and did the steering.
Mines a daily but the majority of the work is on the motorway driving south on a Monday, the fronts are pretty much the same as the rears about 3.5mm all round, I'll change them in the new year.

I've no idea how you could rip through a set of PSS so quickly without driving it hard, even PS2's would last 15k on my old M3s.
