Noisy 2005 X3 3.0?

Surely this is a very basic item that should be picked up on the annual service? How can a mechanic miss such a simple fault?

I guess these things can happen, but we got there in the end hey ; )

But with these engines, it was 15k ago and before I bought it that the last service was done.
I also doubt it is on the list - I couldn't see any reference to it.
Probably only someone who really knows these quirks would ever know to look for it.

I've just had an engine rebuild on my enduro KTM and the guy that did it has given me loads of maintenance tips that don't seem to be written down anywhere.

For once, it's what you know, not who you know.
