BMW Munich Museum visit - where to stay etc
Discussion
Me and my Dad are planning a short break to Munich to take in the museums, especially BMW's, and probably hire an M4 from BMW Werk and do the short Bavaria tour for a few hours. It's unclear whether this needs booked in advance or not so again advice please would be helpful.
Anyway I am after recommendations on reasonably priced hotels, museums to visit (I think there is one with old aircraft etc). I know the Octoberfest is coming up but it's only until very early October and I want to go mid October time for 3/4 nights.
Thanks in advance.

I was there just over a week ago. Here's what we did:
Thursday - drove to Nuremburg, stayed in the Hilton using points.
Friday - 1hr drive to Munich, BMW Museum all day, drove to Stuttgart in the evening, stayed in Holiday Inn.
Saturday - Porsche museum all morning, left for Calais at 2pm, stopped off in Reims at about 6pm, train at 10.20pm.
Munich is a long way from the UK and although do-able in a day, I was very grateful to break the journey earlier.

Ibis have a very reasonably priced hotel on Ungarnstrasse, a little bitThanks in advance.
east of BMW Welt.
Five minutes on t'internet will get you all sorts of cheapish hotels
near the Hauptbahnhof.
Hotel prices normally double (aka tourist prices) during Oktoberfest. Avoid.
Not much point in asking for hotel recommendations these days... prices fluctuate so just look for a decent rated one on hotels.com/booking.com.
If you want to get out of Munich go to Neuschwanstein and Linderhof castles. There's a very scenic route (which goes through Austria) connecting those 2 places. Would be a perfect place to test an M4 I would have thought
