I've thought about a remap but no more than that.....I understand you can get gains in MPG as well as power. One of the reasons I haven't is because I still have the manufacturers warranty.....I know people like DMS say they will cover anything outside the BMW warranty but not sure I'd really want to get involved in that negotiation!

In terms of spec I really rate the following

Comfort Seats - Superb and used every single minute you're in the car
Reversing Camera - Live in London....really helps place the car for parallel parking too
Seven Seats - young kids...don't use them often but when I do they've been invaluable
Panoramic Roof - fairly obvious
Comfort Access - Young kids so always got my hands full
Bluetooth - Fairly obvious

Those are all "must have's" for me....Comfort Seats are very hard to find AUC and finding them in combo with the rest almost impossible.

Have things like heated steering wheel, side blinds, sun protection glass, folding mirrors (must in London), heated seats etc are all great to have.
Very nice spec
Did I mention the Media Pack, Dynamic Pack, Xenon's, Adaptive headlights, DAB radio, High Beam assistant, Soft Close Doors, Prof Hi-Fi and High Beam Assistant ?!?! The thing I really should have specced was Adaptive Drive though!
I've got a fairly similarly specced (sans Comfort Seats) LCI 40d and can agree that these items are all worthwhile. I bought a pre-registered car so new but not to my own specification - I dismissed the rear camera and top-down view as expensive gimmicks I wouldn't have specced given the choice - but swiftly conceded that they are very handy indeed. I wouldn't be without the folding mirrors either.

The 7 seat option is often derided for being too small to be useful - I agree I wouldn't rely on them for permanent seating and would be looking at something larger to fulfil that requirement - but for occasionally transporting a few extra nephews/nieces or taking the in-laws out for the day and putting the 5 and 9 year olds in the boot, its been absolutely invaluable.

I'd be wary of a panoramic roof on early cars out of warranty though - they are prone to breaking and costing a small fortune.

It may be the one on AUC, it is quite high mileage at 70k, but at £20k I could drive it for 3 years and it would owe me nothing.
And even with 100k miles on it it would still be worth £10k all day long.

Where as one at £28k with 50k miles on it, in 3 years time with 80k miles on it will not be worth £8k more imho.
