So started at week 23 with a build date of week 31, which then moved to week 34 and is now circa week 50 as of last week mad

I'll check in a couple of weeks time ...

Is your car a private purchase or is it being done via a company? The only reason I ask is that when I expressed surprise at the short delivery time on mine I was told that retail customers take priority and hence slots that are assigned to BMW UK for management cars and/or press demonstrators can be reallocated to a private buyer once an order is confirmed; that obviously speeds-up delivery times but I got the impression it didn't necessarily happen for company purchases. Obviously the delivery times are longer than normal for any orders that include the upgraded brakes (which means anything specced with the M-Sport Plus Pack) but I daresay that will only be temporary (albeit frustrating if you're one of those affected!).

Private, and yes the dealer told me I was a priority hence why the original delivery date was 8 weeks and sales guy was trying to bring forward to mid July build date.

I suspect as a default all orders with m sport big brakes got pushed back to circa week 48-50. Once big brake production gets over the summer holidays, the dates will improve according to the stealer.

My first reaction was to go elsewhere I.e. Audi or secondhand which was immediately countered with 'we will lend you a car sir until yours arrives'. I can imagine the stealers are screaming BMW Central to get production back to normal and sort out big brake delivery! Especially if are losing sales or having to keep customers sweet.

I know it's easy to say but having waited this long you might as well stick with Plan A and get what you want! The A4 is getting towards the end of its life (all new model due next year?) and second-hand 335d's don't make much sense if you're using finance as the repayments on a PCP are often higher than for a brand new one (and you don't necessarily get the colour combination and/or spec you want either). I'm sure the supply issue with the upgraded brakes is only temporary so hopefully you'll get your new car sooner rather than later!

Looks like all BMW's have disappeared off the Drive The Deal website which in fairness is what they warned was going to happen last week. It will interesting to see how long it takes for them to make a reappearance and what sort of prices are offered when they do; however, seems like 25% discounts may be off the agenda for the time being?

The last deal disappeared iirc at the end of May/ beginning of June and then re-appeared a few days later with more or less a similar deal.

It may not re-appear until supply comes back though!

Will it come back with the same discount on the MY15 car with pro nav linked to the autobox and led lights etc?

Now that would be good! Throw in an improved n57s 386bp 740nm that does at least 50mpg on the urban and I may wait cloud9

Not sure they would offer a discount on a LCI car on first release - have they in the past??

Thought that following the return from the summer shutdown all production was the new model year and that being the case won't your car be 2015 MY anyway?! LCI cars are a different matter but is there even a firm launch date for those?

Limit seems to be how far you want to push the gearbox beyond it's rating.

Hmm, not exactly cheap at around £3k fitted though! If I was thinking of an upgrade I think I'd look at what people like Evolve and DMS could offer before spending that sort of money.....

From what I read, remaps aren't quite available yet - tuning boxes are it for now.

Don't these invalidate the warranty?
Don't get that on a £50k car heck even a £20k car each to their own.

Do tuning boxes if detected when the dealer takes car in for service invalidate the service pack?(is it in the terms and conditions?)

What about PCP deals surely unless you 100% take up the final payment its not you're car its the finance house as such you would needs permission to do such a thing.

Indeed it's not cheap but Hartge are a TUV approved car manufacturer so at least you get a real warranty.

It's the ZFHP70 so 700nm, strange that Hartge rate their tune box at 730nm

The 3 series only got a very light upgrade post the summer hols ...

From the summer of 2014, the new 8-speed Steptronic transmission with a proactive drive system
will also be available for the models of the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW 4
Series and BMW 5 Series.

Plus a few very minor tweeks.

No LEDs I'm afraid
