Struggling to sell my M135i
Discussion
So, I've advertised her (PH & AT) for the last few months and had 1 phone call from an interested punter, but they never rang again. I now have it sat on a forecourt for a car dealer to try and sell for me, making me lose a bit more money and them gain a bit of money for not a lot really.
Is the market just slow? Is it just too much money for a private sale? Or is it something else?
Here she is currently:

Unfortunately it would appear to be somewhat over priced. Look at the AUC site and cars start at around 24/25K, some younger than yours. Given BMW AUC stick around 2/3K on their prices to cover the AUC elements and simply being '(st)(d)ealers', that lends some weight to the argument that you might want to consider reducing the price for a private sale to go quickly.

1. Overpriced. A BMW AUC can be had for the same/less money.
2. See 1.
Sorry, but price needs dropping - perils of new car buying.

Yeah I'm starting to agree, also the price new with better rates on PCP is a factor.
Sorry to say I agree chum. I got a deal on my new 535d three months ago which made it a LOT cheaper than buying a year old one - 4% APR and £12,000 off list for a start.Edited by Soov535 on Friday 29th August 13:59

Have you tried We Buy Any Car?
I'm only saying that as I recently priced my E89 Z4 up on there and they were offering me almost as much (within £100's) as I was going to sell it for privately.
I second this suggestion, my old man got for his 61 plate Mercedes £2000 more than the dealer offer with them, after their transaction fee. He didn't try private, but there was nothing at the eventual price comparable for sale on A/T I'm only saying that as I recently priced my E89 Z4 up on there and they were offering me almost as much (within £100's) as I was going to sell it for privately.
Price was above the highest trade in value on CAP and Glass Guides and 500£ more than the next best offer he received.
As above, it's the cost of buying one new. Given the deals floating around on them it would be hard for anyone buying privately to justify the finance options there versus the dealer support buying new.
If you want rid you'll have to drop the price I'm afraid. Hopefully you got one of the good deals in the first place so it's swings and roundabouts in terms of the money you'll lose. If you didn't get a decent deal then you've been unfortunate.
You've put the price as brand new in the ad as a comparison - but you and I both know you wouldn't pay anywhere near that for one. Anyone in the market for an m135i will probably have the same conclusion.
