Hi all,

New to this sub forum, but does anyone have any knowledge of the standard Bluetooth functionality in the F20?
I'm able to connect my Android device for telephone functionality, but I'm unable to stream audio - which I find really poor in a car of this price. Also, when I plug my iPod into the USB port, the car doesn't recognise it, but does recognise my phone when I do the same.

It all seems a bit strange and was wondering if anyone could provide some info on what I can do, what I can't and whether there are any workarounds?

Cheers

Mustard

Standard Bluetooth does not stream Audio (unless your car was built from 1st July 2014 onwards IIRC when this feature was introduced

Also to use a ipod with standard Bluetooth you need to get a BMW Y Lead, the standard apple lead is not supported with standard Bluetooth , another alternative is to save your music to a USB stick and leave that plugged in the under armrest USB socket

Thanks for the advice, do you know how non-BMW leads perform? Any compatibility issues?
I probably wont use the USB stick option as it's not as easy to manage as the iPod however it's a good backup option.

I had a non-BMW lead in my E90, old school 16 pin connector. It worked fine, apart from it would "pop out" and lose connection. I sorted this with a couple of elastic bands the postie dropped - total cost £3.99 from ebay.
