This has popped up for sale nearby and thinking of buying it

http://www.specialistvehicles.co.uk/bmw-330-ci-spo...

I am just wondering what this is like for spec as I have no clue about E46 spec levels, also if it is too expensive for a 93k mile 2003 car? I really want a full or near full spec car. Not bothered about sat-nav as long as it has a CD player like this does.

I have an a3 sportback which WBAC will give me £7700 for, I can sell it privately for around £10k but really cant be bothered with tyre kickers and people who want to test drive an S-Tronic car locally then go and buy a diesel version.

Thoughts please?

Seems pricy for the spec/miles tbh.

To put this into context I bought a 53 plate 330Ci Sport with 56k miles in Dec 2012 for £6200. This was a private sale though.

that's top money for a petrol 3.0 as above without some options

why not ask whether they would take yours in part ex and what they would give back to you if they are interested.

you're saying you would take £7700 from WBAC and the car is listed is £6k, so are you saying you're happy to pocked £1.7k and have a e46 330ci?
see what the dealer offers anything if anything

Well, you will know that it will probably need suspension bushes and coolant system work at that mileage if it hasn't been done. Also worth checking for rust, and rear sub frame.

I went for a spirited drive just now down into the badlands (lol) of Cornwall and I THINK I actually want a proper manual again.

I need to find and test drive a manual car.... not very many for sale down here.

Can I ask what options CANNOT be retro-fitted or cannot be retrofitted for under £300 each ?

That's twice what I paid for a 2002 52 plate manual 330ci sport 3 years ago with the same mileage. Got to be better value than that out there?

Sports come with a lot of standard kit anyway (cruise, sports seats, auto lights, auto wipers, cd changer etc) and from what I can remember the options available were heated seats, Harmon kardon sound, leather, sat nav and xenons. Leather is probably the only thing that can be easily retro fitted but most have leather anyway.

if you're potentially indifferent on the box and it sounds like you are, buy instead on condition and provenance as theres too many out there that will easily require the purchase price to get to a decent standard

Overpriced, you will find better for less, I would stick A3 up for sale and keep looking.

That's top quality minter money.

That's a 10 year old 100k miler on Nankang tyres. Keep looking.

Is it my eyes deceiving me or are there dents in the door and front wing, a misaligned bumper, grills that look like they are trying to escape and a pretty nasty scuff on the lower valance? No it's not my eyes. That car is a mess.

Agreed but if it's in good mechanical condition better than paying £6k for a 93,000 miler with good body work.

Best to avoid both really.

I thought around £9k was minter money?

I have seen a lovely black with red leather full spec cab for sale for £8k but it is 300 miles away frown
