Just wondered if any pistonheaders are heading up on Sunday? I haven't been for a few years, so hoping it might have improved a bit?

Do want to see/hear that jet car again.

It's a bit of a trek from Cornwall, so going tomorrow and staying nearby.

Anyway, I'll be there in the E30. If you are going, what in?

It was rubbish last time, so was gaydon so I'll not be going.
You may as well walk round your local Bmw dealership.

I'm going as I got free tickets from work and have never been before. Not too far for me either travelling from Slough. Apparently if you have been once then that is enough...

I'll be taking my E28

If I hadn't already booked the hotel I may have changed my mind. As it is though, I'm heading up this afternoon.

Hoping there's some older stuff there tomorrow. I have some friends going in e21's and a race prep'd e28 with itb's & nitrous. I'll be in red e30 M3.

I traveled down from Glasgow, meeting up with loads of friends on the babybmw.net stand.

My best time of the day down the strip was 14.4 secs (130i).

Weather was ace, the jet car was mental !

My best of the day 14.4 second run down the drag strip at Santa Pod.

Up against the same guy in the next run (E46 M3) , They say I gave them a serious fright, only caught up about halfway . Very complimentary about my wheels performance as we lined up for a another go.

Cheers,

Dougie.

Does your car have Alpina badges on it?

I went last year and it was cold wet and windy.

Didn't want to go this year in case it was the same. Next year I might go again.

I won't bother again. There were a few nice cars but mainly modern stuff. The constant thump of awful music did nothing for the day either. The "handling" course was wheel spinning and smoking Nangkangs. There were a few quick cars on the strip but a jet powered Mini, that was slower than my old E21, seemed a bit pointless.

Coloured LED's seem to be "in" right now. 💩

I was there to drop some parts off, but didn't go past the ticket barriers.

From where I was, and what I saw in the vicinity, it appeared to be ChavFest.

It's pretty shocking. I only used to go for the camping and piss up on Saturday night. The show was always pretty crap but we had a challenge going to find the first car (usually an E46 heap) with four different makes of tyres. I won last year, some E46 M3 shed with the usual cheap coilovers and four mismatched part worns, one of which was a Dark Horse Stunner. On an M3. That told me all I needed to know about the BMW scene really.

Yes, well sort of biggrin

I too won't bother again. Agree about the loud thumping music and stage which was 'happenin yo'

Also 'handling circuit' was a joke as well as the many staff working on site who just had a bad attitude. The first car event I have been to in any car, where you are treated like scum and made to feel like you are doing something wrong by attending!!

It was just full of E46 and E39 BMWs which should have been no surprise...
