Pat, any resolution with the EBay guy? I have removed my headlights in preparation for sending them to him, but will now wait to see the outcome of your little palaver. Good luck.

Well after telling him the mechanic already tried what he suggested I got this-

Looks like bolt in the back just spins round this happens when ower tightening, its very easy to fix needs two part glue and glue this back. Thanks

Can anyone decipher exactly what I'm meant to do there?

I think what you are supposed to is send it back, you paid to have the adjusters fixed, patently they are not, it seems to me that the onus is on him to either refund your money or fix the adjuster. As I remember the shaft part of the adjuster is a simple threaded affair, if this turns and the adjuster doesn't adjust then the either the thread in the adjuster isn't biting or the adjuster has pulled out of its ball/socket joint, which believe me is not easy to do.

Taking the car off the road again is another scutter I really can't be doing with. I'll ask him for a refund for the one headlight that isn't correctly fixed and the £15 he said he'd return for postage (I asked him not to send out a spare set of lights)- which he still hasn't done.

I can see him being awkward but I will threaten him with dun dun dun...negative feedback!

Bateman, did you end up being a happy customer? I really need to get my adjustors sorted since I have an MOT coming up.

Just not sure about this guy, the spelling on his Ebay page is some of the worst I have seen!

Cheers.

To be fair, having spoken with him further, I think the adjusters themselves were fine and it was the plastic screw that controls the adjuster that's spinning freely. They may well have been like that before.

I keep meaning to sort it but properly but keep putting it off, warmer weather will help the incentive. Should hopefully just have to glue/loctite the plastic screw onto the metal rod. Something along those lines anyway...
