Did you think they were a bad quality set or just didn't work with your car's setup?
I've absolutely no idea. I am stuck with them as they were 700 quid fitted for the set and they are all brand new! All I can do is hope it goes away over time. I can just hear what sounds like the front tyres singing away on some road surfaces (Not all, they are silent on smooth surfaces but as soon as you get onto anything less than perfect it sounds like they are echoing all the sound back into the cabin or something, hard to describe).

I know that howl - my current Michelin Primacy's do that as well. Crap UK roads are the primary issue of course.

The Contisport Contact 5's on my Dads F11 don't do it. Now I know what to buy next time. Sigh.

On the flip side, I'm currently smoking around in a 2010 Audi A6 3.0 TDI wearing contisport contact 5 tyres all round and there's noticeably more tyre noise on the A6 than on the E65 745i.

They were great on my E Class, for about 4000 miles and then got louder and louder.

And started to crack on the side walls after a few months.

Crap tyres imho.

Damn, that sounds good but what do 17" 225/55 look like on a 535d? I know aesthetics should be secondary but I'm shallow... any chance of a piccie-wic? smile
'Slight' delay - here's a picture on 17's. My car is a bit of a q-car, SE, small wheels, non-tinted glass, de badged etc. Twin exhausts the only clue why you've just been overtaken...

Lurker,

Love the Q car approach....

I just couldn't drag myself away from the M-Sport option (various reasons - resale, steering wheel, seats, headlining) - however here is a shot of mine mid-winter-wheel-change showing the 17" on the front and the 18" yet to come off the rear. Personally, I love the whole idea of a 535D on 17" 225's. smile Miles less unsprung weight too!

See DrMarc lives in gloucester so he will know the A417 /9 that runs up to birdlip around 30 miles of racetrack from junction 15 on the M4....the road howl from my contisport 245/45 runflats is a joke, seriously. These are 18 inchers, on an F30

My 120d auto was so quiet compared to this farce basically noiseless ,that was on 16inch runflats different makes over 115k miles tyres, that is what makes the difference I reckon people just dont get any issues that I can see on 16 inch runflats

Well I increased the Pressure to 2.3 bar all round and its had an instant improvement in MPG (4.5 mpg to be precise...). I'm used to harder tyre pressure but am astonished its made such an improvement.

Thats pretty much the correct pressure though, 2.2 front 2.3 rear so what on earth were you running before and if it was noticeably down then how is it any surprise there is an improvement!?

They were brand new tyres when I picked up the car - I've not checked the pressure from day 1

I put FK452s on my last car as the Michelin Pilot Sport 2s were getting so expensive, and my wife asked if I had put run flats back on it was that hard a ride and o bloody noisy.

However, the FK453s we put on the 7 series were pretty impressive regardless of cost, so be interesting to hear user reports on these.

Well all on just done a few side streets so far,Initial thoughts im gliding over the surface instead of well what words can I use ? Crashing I suppose.Cant wait to give it a real run. These Michelin PS3 non runflats and the AC schnitzer suspension is getting me to where I want this F30 30d car to be,If only it had comfort seats it would be job done.
