Perhaps although the 1 trumps both the 2 and the 4 in a practicality side. I'm a golfer / biker and don't know what I'd do without the convenience of the hatch. The noise is annoying but I'm not sure I could really sacrifice the practicality side.

Example; I've just been doing my flat up. If I didn't have the hatched most likely need to hire a small van to transport all the bits and furniture about. Either that or pay for delivery.

Wonder if I could improve sound deadening.....
I assumed as the OP had mentioned the 4 series already. that wasn't an issue for them?

I had decided on the 435d and was hoping there might be a spec changable build slot between now and the end of the year.... I was being optimistic it seems. If I order it tomorrow they are saying Feb or March if I want to wait until the 15 plate.

Going to consider some options.

M135i has a great engine but is as ugly as sin. The 435d is a stunning car in the flesh and has a great engine with 390 bhp just a re-map away. Similar on paper performance as standard, both tunable but the 4wd 435d will lay it all down instead of spinning any extra you might add away. 435d the better car in 7 out of 10 generally accepted measurements. I am using a 640D this week as a courtesy car and the same engine is a gem.
