Looks like in the real world pricing of M5 and M6 GC now almost identical?
Depends on the M5 price.

Bear mind there have been some aggressive M5 offers at various times.

When I signed for my 6er the M5 was available on contract hire for similar costs.

Decided to go for this, gets delivered on Saturday to the house although can't drive it till the Sunday.

Alot of comments around new v used, if financing on a PCP deal I couldn't get a used car anywhere near the monthly of a new. APR on used was coming in around 10% opposed to 2.9% new.

Used cars with less spec are also around £48-46k for 3-6 months 3-6k miles, I see no point in going used if the cost is this close.
Great sounding car and just what I fancy.
What does that equate to In deposit, monthly payment and term? Thanks

Last week I started having a tentative look at 640d Gran Coupe, for possible ex demo or similar.
I trawled the internet and phoned a few dealers. I couldn't seem to get what I thought was a good deal, and they said that they were talking too big a hit on the cars etc etc.
Yesterday I visited a dealer nearby who had 5 un-registered on site. As has been mentioned on here a lot, they are a heavily 'discounted' model.
I made final phone calls today about a couple of ex demos I had in mind, but overall the deals on the new cars was more favourable.
I bought one today, a good trade in price on my car, and about £23,000 discount, and 0% finance. The car is a fairly high spec, with an initial price of £77,000.
The dealers selling the low mileage, or pre-registered cars seemed to feel they could do nothing to compete (or didn't seem to try).
Hopefully it turns out to be a great car

The prices on the demonstrators and used made no sense against the deals on new cars when I last looked.

It does make you wonder what happens - do they find buyers or do they eventually capitulate to reality.

Yep - find a used 6GC, now up to 3 years old, for less than 32k and you're doing well and yet a new one until recently was circa 50k and now only 53kish.

But no dealer will take mine off my hands or even look at it unless I part-ex yet its an ex press car and fully loaded. I think they have their hands full dealing with the lease cars coming back. I'll soon be in a company car and looks like I've no choice but to sell it privately.

I'm sure loads of independent dealers would? But being fully loaded doesn't add much if any value, but it does make it more attractive to a dealer.

Of course what you want for it might be the issue, if you want to PM me the details I can get a quote for you.

Yes this is the pre-facelift car. £8,000 BMW 'contribution', 0% finance, and further discount.
I collected mine today, the dealer has sold 4 out of the 5 that they had last week, and they were actually amazed at the positive response they are having.
On another note, I had contacted two other Main Dealers about ex demonstrators & pre-registered cars they had. The responses were dreadful, one promised me a video and to return my phone call to discuss my options. I heard nothing from them. Their business manager contacted me a few days later to ask if I was sorted with a car elsewhere, I told him I was, and that they his dealership hadn't bothered getting back to me. He was apologetic, but less than impressed with his sales staff.

The deals on these are just ridiculous. I had a corker of a deal but for several reasons have opted to go for a JCW instead

It is/was a 12 month BMW lease (1+11) and the figures were £599 inc VAT for 12,000 miles. Facelift car about to go into build. I have selected Black on black but might still be changeable as was due through mid July. Also went for M Sport Plus pack, reverse camera and tinted glass.

An awesome car for the money but ultimately decided it would just be too big for ferrying around central London every day.

Anyone interested I'm sure I could make the intro.

Yes, the deals seem fair. The car I bought had, Surround Camera, Park Assist, VDC, Privacy glass, Sunroof, Speed assist, Lumbar Support, Internet, so quite a nice spec. I shall have a proper drive in it tomorrow.
I didn't intend to take out finance, but took the 0%
If anyone needs info on the exact deal feel free to ask.

Sounds awesome, why 1+11, not heard of deals on that basis before?

I get bored of cars quite quickly and am bored of trying to dig myself out of PCP's after just a year or two!

This was a tailored deal by a corporate team as a favour for private use. I guess they know I'll be back in 10 months to order something else.

The JCW doesn't work out that much less, but I fancy something a bit more fun and feel its the last chance to respectably own a Mini before I get too old!

That is an incredible deal....you've effectively got the same rate for a one year contract as a three year and the first year is when the bulk of depreciation is.

The deal wasn't done though. I struggle to believe the numbers especially after the options had been added on a factory order car.

I assure you the deal was done but I cancelled. Anyway, little point us debating the validity of the deal on here

Hi guys

I last posted on this thread 3 years ago when I bought a 640d Gran Coupe M sport and would like to start the thread up again to exchange ideas.

Basically, I am in the market again because after 3 years on my 4 year PCP I can voluntarily terminate owing nothing. My local dealer has quoted me 21k for my car (done 54k miles) and it owes another year of 805pm plus 16k balloon meaning over 25k. So no brainer to return it and go back to the dealer.

So apparently there are offers on atm on a new 6 series of £19k dealer/BMW contribution with 0% finance. This is freely advertised on the BMW website.

Just wondered if anyone else is looking at one of these and what sort of deal they have managed to negotiate. Cheers

What do you think of the 640d for motorway journeys?

Real world economy?

I seen a pre reg 640d m sport with a huge discount a few weeks ago at BMW Leeds, think it was down to around £40k looked mega value.

Did 70k miles in one and it returned 40mpg, mainly motorway/distance runs. Decent mpg for the performance it offered I thought.

Yep I've done 54k in mine over 3 years, mainly motorway admittedly and have achieved just under 40 mpg

It can't be long before its replaced though, its an F series car, came out in early 13 and all the models are moving to G series with the later tech - it you want something distinctive then they do still look the part, but a newish 5 for similar money might be the better car, and a 7 series if you can get past the looks has lots of additional stuff compared to the 6 with newish ones at reasonable prices. I certainly wouldn't be getting carried away by the size of the discount, the prices are just being adjusted to find the market.

That said, I did nearly 80k miles in mine over 3 years and it was great..
