E90 iDrive Resetting the Service Indicator

My car has just been in for its MOT locally and needless to say the CBS indicator has not been reset.

I looked up YouTube but the instructions using the trip reset and toggle switch on the indicator stalk doesn't work. Is this because it's to be reset using the iDrive if you have it?

You set the mot reminder date in the vehicle information part of the idrive.
