About 5% of the music CDs that I store in the iDrive are missing track names or even the CD name. The same CDs display fine in WMP.

Is this a known BMW issue? Anybody have a workaround? I can go back into iDrive to rename the CD, but not the tracks.

Thx

The car uses a hard disk based grace note database to match up the cd and titles.

If this database is out of date it will try to update it via BMW online services. This will fail if a) there is no connection/signal or you haven't paid for the service.

It is for the first three years on a brand new car but after that, you pay.

I shall trot off to the smiling French dealer like a lamb to the slaughter, and ask for the update.
