Quick question on BMW finance settlement
Discussion
Very quick question... My partner requested a finance settlement figure via the BMW website and requested contact via email. Instead of emailing her the dealership where she bought the car has phoned her and are refusing to give a settlement figure over the phone and insisting she goes into the dealership.
The question is; are they within their rights to insist she goes into the dealership to receive a settlement figure? I'm pretty sure the answer is no...
Thanks.

Part of the deal the dealerships have with BMW Finance is that they'll give the dealership the heads up if it looks like the customer is looking to change the car (request for settlement figure). You can still expect a figure in the post. The dealership want first pop at her hence trying all the tactics to get her sat down.

Thanks for that.We are actually looking into the viability of changing from a 135 into a 235 but would rather do it in our time and don't want the hard sell yet so I'll just tell her to look out for the post!
Thanks again.

No need to wait for post or e-mail, BMW Financial Services will give you an immediate settlement figure over the phone; from memory their opening hours are quite flexible so if it's not convenient to phone during normal office hours they're around for at least part of the evening and some of the weekend as well.We are actually looking into the viability of changing from a 135 into a 235 but would rather do it in our time and don't want the hard sell yet so I'll just tell her to look out for the post!

What this geezer said, I've done this numerous times over the phone. Can't understand why they're making you go into a dealership unless they've changed their policy of course.Yup, over the phone is best.
I called for a settlement figure week before last and then phoned up on Fri last week to pay the settlement figure.
All done over the phone, no problems.
Be prepared for a call from the dealership to ask why and if they might be able to help, but that is swiftly dealt with, with a quick and firm "no"!

I currently run a 135i Coupé which is on BMW HP.
I started enquiries into an M235i. When I found the right deal and enquired after p/x on the 135i to discover equity, I received a phonecall from the original dealer where I bought the 135i.
I didn't answer the call, and they haven't called back. I knew they'd be wanting to continue my business, but as I'd independently found the most suitable deal for me already I figured I'd not waste my time nor theirs.
I'm now going through webuyanycar to flog the 135i, as they are offering £500 - £1,000 more than p/x. I'll then deal directly with BMW Financial Services on the phone, as others have said here.
Good luck.

Interesting, thanks for that. I'm also pretty sure the car is in equity at the moment hence trying to get the settlement figure. Out of interest is there going to be much change in your monthly payment?I currently run a 135i Coupé which is on BMW HP.
