Possibly Dim PCP Question

Thinking of getting a new car and have spoken to a dealer about prices. I mentioned I may want to px my current car which I guess is worth about £8k. Looking at some pcp topics on PH & other sites the general recommendation is to place a low deposit as you don't save much overall.
Will a dealer take some of the deposit value from my px car and give the rest as "cashback" or is this not how it works?

Yes cash back is possable with most finance companies.
