Where to track down original spec/build sheet?

Morning all,
I have been trying for a couple of days now to track down the original build sheet/spec list for my BMW. I rang up my local dealer and they gave me a number to try which seems to be permanently engaged. I have searched Google for a VIN decoder but none seem to bring back any actual results I just get very basic info such as, colour, drivetrain etc.

Any ideas?

Last 7 digits of the chassis number in that will give you exactly what you want.

Fantastic! Have tried those on my tablet and phone and got next to nothing back! Just done it now on the desktop and got everything.

And if it is for a car you are looking at and only have the reg, you can go the the bmw extended warranty quote site and put the reg in, in comes back confirming the car and gives you the vin.
