Bmw F10 - low brakes?

Had it bong at me and tell me to take care with braking - or something similar, but the damn thing doesn't say which brakes (pads? 44k mikes) or how much life is left.

Bmw service last week suggested 4-5k? Seems a long way on low pads?

Any suggestions?

Check out the brakes in the iDrive service menu. Gives predicted life for front and rear pads.

I had the rear brakes "low" warning - check this out within idrive - now over 17,000 miles it was check by a human last week: at least 33% of the pad still left.......

Completely forgot there was a count down on the brakes in the idrive system, thanks for that!

No warning message this morning either, I presume this first one was just a shot across the bows prior as to what to expect in the spring?
