Local dealer to me who sells BMWs, Mercs, Audis and Bentleys said that a lighter interior will sell far quicker than black on his used cars.
They went through a stage of black leather for a few years but definitely seems to be a dying trend now.
I find light interiors as easy to keep clean, you see a mark you wipe it.
Not hard.
I actually find the black carpets harder to stay looking good than lighter, it shows everything so much more.

Mine has the Venetian Beige interior, which included beige plastics. It was the wife's choice.
I must admit it's a very light + spacious interior compared to the all-black courtesy car I had for a few days which felt like a 1er in comparison! I was quite glad to get back into it, and the lighter interior really complements Melbourne Red (also the wife's choice).
If I were buying today? I'd go with the Oyster leather. I'm really sold on a lighter off-white interior, but not totally on the white plastics. That said they don't look tacky like I expected, and clean up nicely once G-techniq'd. Same can be said for the light leather, I have no problems keeping it clean, it just needs to be coated with Gtechniq L1 and wiped down with gliptone products when needed. That's with kids aged 2/4/5. The carpet is a pain though!
On economy - happy with the performance/MPG compromise, I am current covering 900 miles a week mostly motorway and averaging 41/42mpg. In the warmer weather I was seeing 43/44mpg. On a reserved 70-75mph run she will hit 50mpg. Short hard runs of triple-figures sustained driving will see it drop to low/mid 30s, power costs fuel and a heavy right foot drags it down. But compared to the RS6 it replaced, I'm seeing 2x the MPG for not a lot less performance. But i do miss the sound...

Thanks that's a good point which I've tried to keep to one side. Mineral grey with privacy glass. Aluminium hes trim with black fininsher.
I like both oyster and black to be honest - wife thinks black!! ????
My F31 is Mineral grey with Oyster and I think it looks great; I also went for the fineline anthracite wood on the dash (personally I think that goes better with Oyster than brushed aluminium) but each to their own with these things! Clearly Oyster has the potential to show more marks than black but as others have said it's easy to wipe clean and there are all sorts of products you can buy to protect it if necessary; IMO the extra effort is worth it as to my eye Oyster looks far more distinctive and classy than black! Not sure how set you are on the exterior colour but I think Glacier Silver also suits the F31; I was put off purely because I didn't think it would go well with the Oyster interior but I saw one in that combination in town the other week and I have to say that looked pretty good as well.I like both oyster and black to be honest - wife thinks black!! ????

So £454pcm incl the deposit for 48 months. £21,800. You could buy a 4 year old 535d F10 M for not much more... With a lot more kit. Worth consideringWhat is the price and the GFV? Is it new or used?
Well some great posts, thank you all
I'm not put off by the Oyster at least and I'm pleased most seen to agree that the lighter seats are classier, and from our man further up the page, perhaps more desirable.
My exterior colour is min grey, so think it will complement well.
Going to try and call into dealer with wife to show her the difference. I don't mind a bit of cleaning, especially as I have to accept that my wife doesn't do car cleaning, or think anything of giving kids sweets in the car!!
're, red wife doesn't do red, and I'm out of that phase personally. So limited choice as mentioned earlier.

And potentially a whole heap more cost (says the man who has just part-exed his 4 year old F11 for a new 335d).Frankly these should do 300-400k miles if maintained properly heck even then they should just keep on going.
Mine should pass 60k in the next few weeks its just like new you'd never know. (My old E90 330d when I let it go at c115k was right as a drum and again in immaculate condition you'd struggle to tell it apart from a 20k car. Whoever has it had a very well looked after car - and I ensure you that I used its full rev range every single day when I drove it).

Not unless it had a billion miles on it you couldn't, which would then preclude the reasonably priced warranty.Dealers are still asking almost 30 grand for well specc'd 535d M Sport's, madness when you think about it.
You did but given your threads and posts over the years whether you actually paid that is anyones guess
Thats the weird thing about the F10 market. It's hard to believe that what you paid for a 4 year old 5 Series diesel is 'a steal' but in the context of what else is around it pretty much is.
Quite why these cars are worth so much money I don't really understand. I'm considering trading for a 535i if one ever comes up but the only one I've seen is £27k.
£27k.
For a 3-4 year old 5 Series?! You can factory order a new one through Drivethedeal for £35k!!!

True - get a warranty though to mitigate any such issues.

The cars will do the miles but lots of expensive bits won't (from dampers to DPF etc) Already had to start replacing my suspension (£££) and judging what happened to my E61, 4-5 years old (depending on your mileage of course ) is a good time to get shot. Good luck with yours.Frankly these should do 300-400k miles if maintained properly heck even then they should just keep on going.
