I've got expensive jeans + oyster and I clean my seats every 2 weeks to remove dye transfer.
Just depends on the 'wash' of jeans.
Sounds a complete PITA and a good reason for black leather...Just depends on the 'wash' of jeans.
I've never had a noticeable problem with my old X5 (Oyster) or 6 series (Ivory) seats that the odd clean wouldn't sort out and I've done probably 100k miles between them

Whatever colour you have the 30d and the 335d seem very popular. They are four new ones in my local train station. And both the nearly new used versions I looked at last week have sold.
If the Jag XE had a 3ltr diesel I would like to try it.The F30 might get 5 stars in all the mags etc but you have to get the mix right because otherwise it aint no "only car you ever need" is it.smashy said:

I've been in BMW's for the last 10 years now but I really hope Jaguar get it right with the XE (please not another X-type debacle!) and if they do I could certainly be tempted to move across when it's time for a change. However, the F30/31 is a very competent all-round machine and hence it will take a pretty good car to better it IMO. fair dos JNW1 I mean the 3ltr diesel is a peach no other manuf can equal power and fuel economy can they,
So M sport adaptive steering followed by a visit to put AC Schnitzer springs on as ive heard so many stories of adaptive sport being too hard and Comfort being to soft.
Sport seats as the standard arent up to the job,
17 inch tyres for the best ride
....and theres your 5 star F30

Well after a few weeks of hassle (won't bore with details) I picked up this little beauty last week. She's just hit 1000 miles today already but will have an easier week next week now she's nearly run in.
Only think It needs lowering a little ( can't get used to seeing the top profile of the tread on the front tyres), so might look at the posts earlier about sports suspension set up... maybe!!
Averaged 48mpg today heading to Carlisle and back too, quite surprised by that, but took it easy barring a few bursts!
Hope everyone else still enjoying theirs! Just wish I'd got folding mirrors now, but never mind.

Looks lovely, don't worry about folding mirrors unless you have specific requirement (very narrow garage etc...) they are pointless.
In fact the only time I want to be able to use them is when travelling on narrow roads at pinch points where people can't keep to their side, but they won't fold whilst on the move.

On the F10 you can drive away with them folded in and they automatically open once the speed hit I think 25mph. In fact the only time I want to be able to use them is when travelling on narrow roads at pinch points where people can't keep to their side, but they won't fold whilst on the move.

I just skimmed thru this thread. I got mine in May 14, it's a brilliant compromise of performance & practicality. I really don't know what those complaining about the suspension etc., are talking about. It's a (very fast & economical) brilliant sports saloon.

How are you finding the adaptive gearbox ie it links with the nav so knows a roundabout corner junction is coming and will ensure you are in the correct gear & be changing down etc.
48mpg is good going for a barely run car

I would say you don't notice the adaptive transmission - 48 is very good, I average 40 in a 430How are you finding the adaptive gearbox ie it links with the nav so knows a roundabout corner junction is coming and will ensure you are in the correct gear & be changing down etc.

Cheers, I love it. But ?? You're ahead of me on the g/box / nav combo I'm afraid!! I tend not to read instructions very well when it comes to toys but now you've mentioned it, it does ring a bell. I will be trying it out tomorrow, but being honest 9 times out of 10 I use the paddles for roundybouts - always have! Pretty pleased with MPG so far. First 700 miles or so was averaging 42. I use eco pro in cruise when I can't 'go anywhere' so to speak I.e. cruising, and sport for getting past mobile sheds! The 48 (.2 ) was mainly on a run to be fair as well.
Going to have a mess about changing transmission set up in Sport to just chassis and see what that's like.
Seriously considering the springs for the ride height more than anything (call me vain if you want) - just wondering about warranty and who to fit them? When you can see the front damper behind the tyre then for me, the ride height is too high!
