Noticed that my 2010 335d (bought used last year from BMW directly) eats windscreen fluid faster than petrol. Parked the car differently and sure enough large puddle under passenger side front wheel.

Booked in for an investigation but was told that it might not be covered by warranty - since it's a used car warranty. Seems legit? (not to mention they'll charge me £125 if it isn't covered).

Question 2 : if i change to non-runflats (HATE THEM WITH PASSION) is the warranty void?

tia!

I'm assuming the car icovered under AUC warranty? If so, you can have a look online at the exclusions under AUC which are few.
I can't see how a leaking fluid reservoir wouldn't be covered unless it has somehow been damaged by external forces.

In my experience, if they try and wriggle out of covering something, unless they can show me in the terms and conditions that it is specifically excluded, much stamping of feet usually makes them chapnge their mind.

Regarding changing from RFTs, I'm not sure how changing from rock hard unforgiving rubber to something more compliant and therefore less wearing on suspension parts could invalidate the warranty. With suspension and steering, they may try to claim fair wear and tear and that would depend on the mileage, however my stock answer is that would be that if for example a wheel bearing failed and they claimed it was due to mileage, then unless all have failed that argument is invalid as all have done the same mileage.

Stick to your guns.

My car is under a fully comp auc warranty.I have aftermarket alloys and none runflat assymetric 2 tyres.I have my services,MOT and all warranty work completed by a main dealer as they price match my closest indy.
I've had no issues with warranty work whatsoever and the issue has never been raised.
However,in relation to your first issue, there seems to be a lot of difference between dealerships and lack of consistency.
I've had major problems with Sytner Oldbury for some of the most basic of warranty work, which they point blank refused to budge on.This wasn't an issue with Mondial when I appealed-solely with Sytner.
I promptly moved my business elsewhere-it's more of a distance, but I've had no issues since.Compared against what I have had replaced under warranty,I think that you should be fine. However,I'm basing this on a comp policy...

They will look in your washer hoses, if there is a load of congealed fluid blocking the tubes (or the back of the nozzle actually) they will charge you.
It gets congealed when you mix different washer fluids, the handbook says use BMW washer fluid for this reason.
When it blocks the pipe pops off and you get it leaking everywhere.

I would have a look online on where to check yourself.

Or at least put a good 10 litres of plain water through it before taking it in.

Oh, and changed the runlfats on my last 5 BMWs over the last 10 years and never had an issue with warranty.

Sticks.

I've not heard of the pipe popping off before. But at this time of year a common fault is headlight washer jets freezing, not closing properly, and slowly emptying the reservoir as a result. BMW may say that not using BMW washer fluid to the concentration specified in the handbook will have caused the fault.

A quick look to see if they're closing flush will tell you if this could be the problem.

Car is used but bought straight from BMW dealer - so BMW used car warranty I assume... never checked!

Well, they had a look and reckon washer bottle has a little crack in it. It leaks very slowly but surely - but all washers (lights and windscreen) work perfectly fine. They didn't have the part in stock but they said it will be covered unless there's external damage to it like someone pointed out. Can't really imagine how'd that happen since it's inside the car. Car in next monday, curious to see what happens.

Cheers about the tyres, for sure ditching runflats when time comes.
