I have a 125d with run flats, I want to get rid of them because of their price, I am scared if I hit a pot-hole they will shatter the wheel and they ruin the ride.

What are my options, can you mix run flats and non-run flats as my tires need replacing? I doubt this somehow, what have other done?

Thanks in advance.

Not much chance of shattering the wheel, but run-flats are puncture magnets.

Not recommended to mix n match run-flats with ordinary tyres, best to replace all 4 at once.

Replace all 4 with non run flats, otherwise from what I have read extensively there's the risk of poor handling and control of car.
You've not mentioned warranty, but I checked with Mondial and BMW and the change has no impact on either warranty or rescue.
Neither did it require an amendment to the insurance, but not all insurers may feel this way.

Makes sure you replace all 4. I only done one axle and it drove like it was on ice at high speeds.
Safe to say it only took me around 24 hours to get the other axle done!

The reason I only done one axle to begin with was the front tyres were pretty much brand new so I didnt want to waste them. After changing them I sold the newish run flats on ebay and re couped about 70% of the cost for the new non run flats.

I was/am considering this too although I've heard stories of dealers rejecting cars at trade-in due to not having RFTs fitted. Is this the case? Does a dealer have to sell the car on with RFTs?

When I bought my E92 the rear tyres were due replacement and the front were not, RFTs all round. Replaced the rear with standard tyres and the car felt unstable, light at the front and unnerving when moving on a bit. Replaced the front RFTs with standard tyres and all was well with the world. From what I've read mixing is bad, especially if the driven wheels lose the RFTs (as I did).

I've been running go-flats on the rear and run-flats on the front for about 12 months on my 335i. The car handles fine.

I'm just waiting for the fronts to need changing then I'll put go-flats on there too.

To be fair I had a Conti on the front near side and anpther brand on the front offside. These front RFTs didn't play well with the rear standard tyres but the brand mix probably worked against me.
