2006 E60 530D saloon. Worth a punt?

A 2006 530d has come up local to me in Frankfurt.

RHD, so cheap (currently €4600, pretty sure I can get a few euros off)

Originally Irish registered but now on German papers with nigh on 2 years TüV.

116k and the SH looks ok, bar one 30k gap between services (70k-100k).

Auto, pretty plain spec (SE?), leather, small alloys (16") which I prefer.


Worth a punt, or should I be dusting off my barge pole?

Swirl flaps should have been sorted by 2006, or am I mistaken?

DPF/Cat could be on their way out, perhaps?

Anything I should be looking out for on a test drive? The selling lot is proper small-time trader, caravan for office, the works. Loverly jubberly.

Dpf will put a warning light on dash if faulty. Swirl flaps should be fine if they are not leaking. If you're worried about them, put blanks in.

Looks like we´ll take it for a spin and see how it goes! I had a quick play on the iDrive and it said the DPF was OK, I think.
