Just got back in my car after leaving it parked for 5 minutes and a warning light pops up for a faulty bulb. I had a look around the car and I can't see any issues. When I got home I had someone check the brake and reverse lights and they're fine too. Warning light won't go away, any ideas or am I going to have to get the code read?

What bulb is it saying has gone?

Locate it and give it a wiggle see if it helps or just replace anyway, if it's not far off going they can throw errors.

I just discovered you can get an error code to display by holding the button on the left stick down, gives me CC-ID-136 which is left brake light. Upon researching I found that early E92s have dodgy rear bulb holders that can get corroded and throw errors so I ordered a new one. The warning light was gone this morning so it seems like that might be it. £15 for the part with all the bulbs, should solve the problem.

A bit late to save you £15 I'm afraid but this might help others. I had the OS rear brake light warning light come on but with all lights functioning a few years ago. Removed the bulb and wiggled it about but the problem re-appeared a few days later. Took the bulb out again and looked at the terminals with a magnifying glass and saw a kind of furry "growth" on the wires. Used a fibreglass contact cleaning pen to remove it. Bingo, 5 years and 100+k miles later it has never re-appeared.
2007 E92 335i manual by the way.
