Im done with you Bedroom Man and change that T shirt, lets not completely ruin the thread. For others on here,I made the point the OP has a great car,my frustration is with the UK roads that I drive, the fact im now used to crazy MPGs in a usefully fast car.In no way am I knocking the OPs choice...and I praised his car in my first post.

Absolutely amazing car and mid 20s mpg is what I used to get from my 328i and what I get now for my 335i.

Get those rear backboxes deleted and unleash the noise!
I just got a quote for that this morning!

Fantastic choice OP, much better than those dreary oil burners cluttering the roads up.

(Former 330d owner who got bored and is now loving being back in a big petrol).

Look out, you'll get accused of dribbling on your vest/t-shirt/other attire next.

That only happens if I'm a bit bored. Like if I'm behind the wheel of a diesel smile

Great car OP. Just picked up my 650i m sport and love it. WRT diesels, they have their place in trucks and utility vehicles IMHO, yes they can go quite quick but you always have the tractor sound!
Thanks. Do you recall a black debadged W211 E Class on the A31 a couple of months ago, travelling west? I had a little dabble with a black VXR8 like yours, I think it had a smallish numberplate?

Anyway how is the 650i? Is it a new one? Do you find it is almost silent?
My old VXR8 plate was R8GXR, may have been me but you would have known it as it was seriously quick if a little basic - VBox timed at 8 something to 100 and 4 to 60. smile
The 650 is great but crying out for a decat, exhaust and lowering. For now I've locked open the exhaust flaps for a little more noise.
Not sure if you have Dynamic drive on your 550 but I have it and once in sport mode it really does make a world of difference in the corners, actively stops any roll.

I've never understood this often incessant need diesel owners have to justify the diesel choice, it happens all over the internet including this very thread where somebody is clearly chuffed with a 550i and somebody else is desperate to convince themselves a 330d is kinda almost as good. Way to miss the point.
I pulled up behind an F11 520i the other day. He couldn't have seen the badge on the back of my car, and maybe wouldn't have noticed or cared, but I was pleased that there were two petrol-engined recent BMWs in close proximity. They're rare enough without people like smashy and his 'must lease a new diesel' attitude trying to ram it down our throats at every opportunity.

Wish I could have found an F11 550i but I'd have been better off holding out for an E39 Alpina B10 V8S Touring since they're more common.

Jobbo ,all you are doing is listening to your own voice and like all of the social media crew dont really read what other people actually are saying.

.....as someone who was lucky enough to have an Alpina B3s in 2004 I will bail out.

Stepping through the debris of this thread, I'd just like to say...

Nice car OP, that's a proper Q-car you've got yourself there. Enjoy!
