E60 boot release

Hi,
the button on both fobs no longer open the boot, it's a pain because there is no boot release in the car and need to use the key...

Is this a common problem, how easy is it to fix.

Anyone know anything about this?

On my e60 (saloon for clarity) I have a button above the bonnet release.

Also I have to unlock my car before the boot key works, I then have to hold the button on the key

Cheers, I will have a look near the bonnet release.
NB the key doesn't work even if the car is unlocked..
