Dan, apparently to have 7 digit postcodes search you need to have the up to date firmware which is something separate. I'm optimistic I have that so if I can download correctly I will give it a go. Still be interested in seeing if you get it all to work. Thanks.

So my idrive will let me search a postcode but when I try to use it for the navigation it only brings up the town that the postcode relates to.
Which is st quite frankly.

I need to look into getting my firmware updated really but can't find much information about it.

IF I have the firmware, it's because my car was plugged in at the dealers and "asked," for the latest updates, for that reason I got it for free. from what they said, otherwise you would have to pay.

A guy on e90post will update firmware for £100 and I'm hoping my local Indy can do it too.

I'm not opposed to paying for it though.

if you want the idrive upgrade you need a LCI model, i think they're from late 2008 onwards. Way to tell is the rear lights are all red instead of red with clear indicators.
This only applies to Saloon and Touring. Effectively any Saloon, Touring, Coupe or Cab BUILT after September 2008 and fitted with Pro Nav will have CIC iDrive not the crap older one.

This means there is some 18 months worth of pre LCI Coupe and Cab with CIC fitted. Remember, its cars built after September 08 not just registered, there are quite a few late registered 09 plate cars made before September 08.
