Discussion
The domains are registered, the site will be on XenForo and the host is being squared away. The site will be up - eventually, give it a week or so. It'll be new and will obviously recognise its legacy but without hanging onto to it too much. Hopefully those that were on the 'Land before will join up but if not, well, no biggie I guess. More to follow.

I should probably clarify why I arrived at the name BMWLänder. It was mainly because I wanted to recognise BMWLand and all that it stood for, 'Länder' is the German for Lands and I wanted to acknowledge the international flavour that the site had and lastly all the previous memebers were, well, 'Landers' and I wanted to recognise those people too. www.bmwlander.co.uk
I hope that makes sense.

A quick update, the site is now hosted and the link above will take you to a holding BMWLänder page with a pair of bunnies ears. I now need to build the forums and make it reasonably user-friendly. Once I've got the basics on there I will make it live with the caveat that it'll be a work in progress because I know that I won't have captured all the forums that were on BMWLand but we'll get there - slowly. In between making the site live and turning it off again someone's managed to register already - epic!

Well I shall pass my respect here,
Firstly to Matts late wife and on behalf of the bmwland community, we understand your feelings and our thoughts stay with you.
Kateg28 is due huge thanks, not only for the updates, but with dealing with such sensitive matters
Osinjak - your legendary, the new place shall be a much welcomed site to many old and new members, I'm sure, your aware of the legacy your undertaking, though I'm sure speaking for others there's plenty of help & support at your disposal,
Count me In I've already looked for the new site but "as yet" can't find, though that's possibly my usual spelling errors that's technically not always me! More an apple function!
Wishing all of you, all the best and hope to be reunited soon

Thanks everyone. When it finally goes live I'm hoping that the old and bold will come back and help me shape the site into something that we all want whilst maintaining the spirit of before but also moving in a slightly different direction perhaps. Like the French phrase, the same but different. I hope!

Many thanks for giving this a go. Will try and help if possible. Not sure if suggested before, but is there a way for you to contact other Moderators of the Land?
Surely Ollie or indeed others will be able to help?
Also an idea to contact the site sponsors like PMW and BMW Cotswold perhaps?
Btw it took me ages to register here. My BMWLand username kept being rejected. Hence now Merc2. Simplified from
Merc? No, BM!
