E53 X5 3.0d chipping

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had this done and their thoughts. Have been pleased enough with a later high spec model, but as some people have said the gearbox lets it down at times.

Any thoughts on how it might also compare to a 40d M sport, 8 speed model once it's been chipped.
